Yep, it's Valentine's Day, one of the most polarizing days of the year. Some people can't wait to profess their love and shower their partner with gifts and affection. Others think it's a total joke and want nothing to do with the roses, the chocolates, or the little candy hearts. But whether you love it or loathe it, there are some perks to the holiday that might surprise you.
Plenty of businesses run specials for Valentine's Day because it's a big money maker. Applebee's Grill + Bar is running a promotion with food and drink specials, hoping to bring in some people interested in a date night. People are reportedly coupling up for the deals but not for any romance.

One TikToker thought this deal was too good to keep secret.
TikToker Rachel Burns, aka @rachelburns01, posted on January 16, encouraging her followers to check out the restaurant chain for some winter fun. The video opens with text that reads, "This is your sign to go to Applebee's and get the $5 Valentine's Drinks and All You Can Eat Wings!"
She then cuts to cocktail and food menus that look pretty good. Who wouldn't love a $5 Smooch Sip?
Her video went viral.
Heaven knows we all are looking for a deal right now, and Burns, who has fewer than 700 followers on TikTok, wanted everyone to learn about this one. Folks heard her message loud and clear, and the viral video amassed 1.6 million views. She even caught the attention of Applebee's, which commented, "LOVE LOVE LOVE."
People were all over it.
Plenty of folks have already taken advantage of the deal.
One person wrote, "omg we did this the other day after bowling and it was too good."
Others weren't worried about a partner. Like this person who wrote, "Taking my single a– on an applebees date ."
And people were tagging friends in the comments trying to set up dates. "let's go next week for valentines," another comment reads.
Applebee's employees chimed in to help remind customers to be polite.
When a restaurant is busy, people can get crabby. Servers commented that they hoped folks would use their manners.
"From an Applebee's employee: if you go, be patient. Cooks are struggling in back of house and FOH is dealing w everyone," one server wrote.
Another person wrote, "As an Applebee's employee all you can eat fills me with murderous rage that I cannot take out on anyone because it would be against Apple family values."
And then, of course, came this helpful reminder: "as an Applebees employee don't forget to tip ur servers."

People love their Applebee’s.
The company recently launched a promotion selling date night passes valued at $1,500 for just $200. But the site reportedly crashed, and the cards sold out in seconds, leaving a lot of people frustrated. Hopefully, the cheap drinks and food will help ease the sting for those who didn't snag that great deal.
An employee ensured commenters that the deal is worth it. "as someone who works at applebees. these are all very popular and actually good," the person wrote.
