The accident occurred at Falcon Field Airport.

According to People, an FAA spokesperson confirmed that a Honda HA-420 crashed at the airport during takeoff. It’s unclear what caused the accident, but the plane crashed into the car.

“The aircraft struck a vehicle outside of the airport property,” the FAA reported.

A single survivor from the plane is receiving treatment at a hospital for burn injuries, People reported.

A child died in the plane crash.

According to a release from the Mesa Police Department obtained by People, four adults and a minor perished in the plane crash. Spencer Lindahl, 43, Rustin Randall, 48, Drew Kimball, 44, and Graham Kimball, 12, all died.

Fox 13 reported that the jet accelerated to a maximum airspeed of 133 knots before decelerating to 100 knots by the end of the runway. It then went off the road and reportedly crashed into a moving vehicle.

Police called the crash a 'tragic loss.'

In a release Mesa Police said, “Our community suffered a tragic loss … a plane crashed into a single vehicle on Greenfield Rd upon takeoff from Falcon Field in Mesa.”

Clearing the crash took a long time. Mesa police shared on X the following morning than roads remain closed.

“Update on traffic from last nights plane crash. Greenfield is still closed in both directions from McKellips to McDowell. All other traffic is open. If you work in the area that’s closed down, officers are letting people in to their work site.”

The crash saddened the community.
