Mom Influencer Under Fire for ‘Super Super Uncomfortable’ Photo of Her Kiddo

You would think after some mom influencers came under scrutiny for exploiting their children on social media that it would deter some other moms, or mama bears if you want to get extra cringe, from doing it too.

Unfortunately, that isn’t the case, and when mom influencer Sarah Knuth shared a photo of her daughter with a censor sticker on her, Sarah’s harshest critics on Reddit came out to share their disgust with her.

In the photo, Sarah’s young daughter is laying on an ottoman at a store. She is also in a dress, and Sarah placed a sticker over her to seemingly censor anything that might be showing because of the angle of the photo.

The sticker, which says ‘SOS,’ drew even more criticism from other parents who don’t quite understand why Sarah even had to post the photo to begin with.

People were not happy with her censored photo of her daughter on social media.

The photo in question does not need to be shared again, but it is still on Reddit, where plenty of Sarah’s critics are stationed to share their thoughts on her decision to post it in the first place.

It should probably tell you something about this particular mom influencer that she has so many haters that they created a subreddit dedicated to snarking and talking trash about her and her content. The biggest issue that most of her critics have is that she tends to lean on using her kids in photos and videos for internet clout.

Maybe once upon a time, it wasn’t so frowned upon, but we’ve all grown.

We now understand what exploiting kids means, even if we don’t intend to do it by sharing silly pictures of our kids across different social media platforms. Well, Sarah clearly lost that memo or decided to delete it without reading, because her Instagram is full of kid-related content.

This photo in particular that she originally shared on Instagram has her haters on Reddit out in full force, ready to share all of the reasons why the photo makes them “super super uncomfortable.” And, as one user put it in the Reddit thread, why even post the picture if the original needs to be censored to make sure the child isn’t exposed?

“OMG! Who sees their daughter do this and thinks to whip out their camera to take a pic AND THEN POST IT ONLINE?” one user commented on the thread on Reddit. “This is not OK!!”

To be fair, I might be inclined to take a photo of my kids doing silly things.

But the difference here is that I would not post something even remotely inappropriate or in violation of their privacy. I guess that’s why I’m not a mom influencer, because apparently, you need care a little less about those things in order to get those millions of followers.

“Why would she even post this picture?!??” Someone else commented on Reddit. “So weird and inappropriate!”

Others questioned why Sarah even took the picture. Seriously, did someone tell her this was a funny take on hashtag silly toddlers?

“This grossed me out for all her followers,” a user added in the Reddit thread. “Like come on! You aren’t being funny with this”

Another user on the thread shared that they have reached a point where they are tired of most influencers.

“I’ve started un-following influencers [especially] once you see them all posting [the] same crap,” they wrote. “They’re getting rich off your insecurities and trust! Follow animal rescues, etc., where any money you spend is going to good use, not a Texas mini mansion and Range Rovers.”
