A group of students from Cameron Elementary School were reportedly traumatized by the actions of the adult left to supervise them for the day. A substitute teacher at the school in West Covina, California, had to be removed from the classroom after administrators learned that he was allegedly viewing inappropriate images in the presence of his elementary school students.
The images were reportedly so appalling that many of the students left the room in tears, and one called his father for help.

A parent called the school saying their child contacted him sobbing.
The incident came to the attention of the West Covina Unified School District when a concerned parent called Cameron Elementary School wondering why his son called him sobbing, a statement from Superintendent Emy Flores explained.
When the schoolâs principal, Sylvia Fullerton, went to check on the boy, she found him and several other students in tears. Parents told NBC 4 that their children claimed the sub was watching ânaked peopleâ on his phone which was displayed within the studentsâ line of vision.
Fullerton asked the sub to leave the room as she tried to calm the students. Ultimately, she brought them to a mental wellness room on campus. Afterward, she reported the incident to the district, who in turn reported it over to police.

'He wouldn't let them go to the bathroom,' one parent said.
Parent Stacy Mathews said the students were so disturbed by the incident that they huddled in a corner, clearly uncomfortable. Furthermore, the sub wouldnât let the children leave the room. âHe wouldnât let them go to the bathroom,â Mathews said. Eventually, many of the students were able to leave the room and seek help.
The police called for patience as they investigate.
The West Covina Police Department is investigating the matter. âWe urge everyone to remain calm and trust in the investigative process. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all community members, particularly our children,â West Covinaâs chief of police Richard Bell wrote in a statement.
But Cameron parents took to protesting, claiming that the police werenât moving fast enough and their children were too upset to attend school.
The parents are demanding that the sub be arrested.
âWhen we found out on Saturday that he wasnât arrested, [my daughter] was scared, thinking that he was going to come back and come back to get them for tattling, is how she worded it,â Mathews said.
Flores said the district has a detailed hiring process and the sub was required to submit fingerprints, undergo a full background check with the Department of Justice, and do drug testing. The subâs results all came back clean. Regardless, parents want justice to be served and the teacher to be arrested.
