16-Year-Old Fatally Shot & Killed Amid Alleged Teen Love Triangle

Trey Dean Wright, a 16-year-old from Johnsonville, South Carolina, was fatally shot amid an alleged teen love triangle — and so far, nine teenagers have been arrested in connection with his death. On June 24, 2025, officers from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a shooting on First Neck Road about 11:30 p.m.

Deputies discovered Wright lying in the road, having received multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office shared via Facebook. Although Wright was rushed to a hospital, he died from his injuries.

Deputies arrested Devan Raper, 19, of Conway, South Carolina, on June 25 on suspicion of shooting and killing Wright. He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to the news release.

During an interview with News 13, Sheriff T.J. Joye said the teens “had issues with each other, and it was over a female.”

“The sad thing is, you got a 16-year-old that lost his life,” he added. “You’ve got a 19-year-old who is going to be in jail the rest of his life. Over what?”

On June 30, sheriff’s deputies arrested Gianna Helene Kistenmacher, 17, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was charged with accessory before the fact of a felony, according to another news release from the sheriff’s office.

“Kistenmacher is alleged to have brought the murder suspect, Devan Raper [believed to be her boyfriend] to the incident location knowing that Raper was armed and that there would be a confrontation for violence likely to lead to death based on statements made in her presence,” investigators shared, per the release.

On August 3, three more teenagers were arrested. Hunter Matthew Kendall, 18, of Myrtle Beach, was arrested and charged with murder, as well as Corrinne Elizabeth Belviso, 18, and Sydney Marissa Kearns, 17.

Four additional suspects were also arrested, but their names were not released because they are minors.

“They were complicit in bringing the armed codefendant, Raper, to the incident location and knowing that there would be a confrontation,” said Maj. Michael Nunn of the sheriff’s office, per News 13. “They knew that Raper had presented a firearm to the victim and made threats to shoot him, according to the arrest warrants.”
