Everyone likes a scary story — until it happens to you. Dad of six Josh Dean, who goes by joshdean0222 on TikTok, is facing his own ghost story after a camera caught what appeared to be a ghost pulling his young daughter under the bed.
The spine-tingling event was shared in a series of videos starting February 22.
Like all good ghost stories, this one happened at the witching hour. According to the time stamp in the footage, at 11:37 February 21, Dean’s unnamed daughter can be seen looking under her bed with what appears to be kids' music playing in the background. (Already, I have the major creeps.)
Eventually, the little girl swung herself off the bed and crawled under the bed to investigate.
Or was there something else going on? The girl started to wail, crying “Mommy! Mommy!” as the eerie kids’ music continued to play, and her foot dragged along the carpet.
In a follow-up video, the girl’s mother comes in to investigate.
“When mom came in, you can see the orb fly off her in the end,” Dean wrote in the video’s caption.
Mom lifted the crib, freeing the little one, who was still in tears.
“My daughter being pulled under the bed,” Dean captioned the video. “Wife thinks she crawled but she was clearly pulled by something!!”
But there were several things in the video that might point to the unexplained. First, what looks like a white orb can be seen falling across the girl’s pillow toward the end of the footage. And then there is a disturbing shadow and what some commenters thought were footsteps that appeared after her baby doll fell.
Commenters were freaked out by the footage — to say the least.
Dean’s original video has since been watched more than 11 million times, and many people agreed that this was evidence of something sinister.
“OH H–L NO SHE WAS NOT CRAWLING SHE WAS BEING PULLED. AFTER SEEING THAT I WOULD’VE TOOK ME AND MY KIDS AND LEFT,” one commenter wrote.
“Nah she was definitely pulled by something,” another person agreed.
“And now my kids will sleep in my room till they’re 20,” a third person added.
A few people were skeptical, however.
“The logical explanation is that she wanted her toy and went for it then either realized she was stuck or got scared because she was in the dark,” suggested one person.
“Looks like she was crawling after a toy she couldn’t reach while calling mommy to come help her get it,” someone else added.
A third commenter put it this way: “She pushed off the wall and clearly went under herself."
Unfortunately, the freaky occurences didn't stop there.
In another video Dean shared from February 23, his daughter was sleeping in her bed when it again appeared that she was being pulled by something supernatural.
Although his daughter could’ve been moving in her sleep, the footage does look like something is pulling her off the bed. On February 24, Dean shared another video taken from his bedroom where it appeared his daughter was woken from her sleep as something seemed to pull on her leg and told her to “Come back.”
It's all very, very strange.
