Utah Town Has Bone To Pick With Man’s Pole-Dancing Skeletons & Orders Him To Remove Them

Is it starting to get spooky where you are? It's late October, and a lot of neighborhoods are getting into the Halloween spirit. People go all out this time of year, and we are here for it. We love the displays, and the amount of time and creativity people put into decorating is impressive. But not everyone loves a good spooky display.

A skeleton display in Grantsville, Utah, has the neighborhood divided. A resident placed a skeleton on a street sign that appears to be pole dancing, with a group of rowdy skeleton onlookers leaving tips. Is it good, clean fun, or do city leaders really have a bone to pick with the display?

Sure, it might be a tad risqué.

We will admit that a pole-dancing skeleton might not be everyone's Halloween cup of cider, but it is pretty darn funny. A lot of people in town think so, too. Fox 13 did a bit of investigating and talked to folks in Grantsville to see what they had to say.

"We're going to go tip them when we leave," Carrie Sly, a server at The Outpost restaurant said with a laugh. "We know what it's like to work for tips."

The city really didn't like it and decided to let residents know the display needed to come down.

Christopher Fujishin told Fox 13 he put the display on the street sign in front of his house. "Maybe a little risqué for some people but it's all in the name of fun," he said.

But the city didn't think it was funny and issued a now-deleted statement on Facebook demanding the display come down.

"Displays like this are not acceptable as it is against city code to attach anything to a street sign," the post read. The person responsible had until 9 p.m. October 18, to take it down … or else.

Fujishin removed the display per the city's request.

He moved it right up to his lawn, added lights, and made it even more eye-catching!

Neighbors have donated to the cause and want to keep the display up.

"We look forward to keeping this going, and getting it a little more elaborate as we go," Fujishin told KKTV.

Grantsville residents said 'Boo' to the city.

The display made the rounds on social media, and a few people agreed that it was too much, but most people thought there were much bigger things to worry about. The Ogdenite shared Grantsville City's Facebook post, and the comments were filled with skeleton supporters.

"Grantsville City. Have a seat and calm down. Halloween will be over soon and you can go back to being boring untill Christmas lol," someone wrote.

"Greetings from Thailand, with that type of people on your city board I would petition to have them replaced with some that have brains," another comment reads.

"Does no one have a sense of humor anymore??" someone else commented.

"Don't let the haters make you take it down! Love it!" another person wrote.

The skeletons are here to stay.

Fujishin shared the Fox 13 story on his Facebook page, captioned, "Having a good time out in Grantsville!"

Friends and family encouraged him to keep going.

One friend thinks the skeletons should stick around for Christmas. "I suggested leaving her up for Christmas, having her wear a Santa hat, red and green lights, and play Santa baby, or baby it's cold outside. And have a sign, need presents for kids," the person wrote.

The daring decorator told friends he had a few things up his sleeve. "we have been brainstorming! Should be epic!" he replied.
