Kids don't just say the darnedest things, they all think it. When you're young it's easy to misunderstand words, phrases, and concepts in the world around you and sometimes your imagination gets the best of you. Whether you confuse words — like the time I told friends that my older brother was a lesbian (because he got into the school play and thespian society) — or you just didn't know better about certain things, it's easy to laugh at some of the things you got wrong as a kid. That's why one woman decided to own up to her youthful mistakes and call them out on Twitter for everyone to enjoy.
Jennifer Wright shared on Twitter some of the things she got wrong as a kid and asked others to chime in.
"I also thought clowns were born looking that way. I'd been told it was VERY RUDE to point or laugh at anyone who looked different, so at kindergarten birthdays I would gaze at them with respectful solemnity, like a little Queen Victoria," she added. "I think if no one had told me I'd have been about three years away from writing something for my school newsletter about how WRONG it was that we were forcing these beautiful individuals to perform for our amusement and CHUCKLES."
People were quick to share, and it turns out we were hysterically dumb as kids.
Wright's thread quickly went viral with people adding their own childhood misunderstandings — and they're gold.
Many were seriously confused by the "no drinking and driving" concept.
"I used to get so mad at my dad for 'drinking and driving' when we picked up fast food and he'd start drinking his soda before we got home," one user added.
One guy thought for the longest time that cows had multiple penises.
"Jesus, Paul," one user reacted.
"No kidding, that's appalling," another added.

Some had trouble with historical events like Watergate and the Underground Railroad.
"I thought the Underground Railroad was an actual railroad. Pretty impressive, to build that without anyone noticing!" one person wrote.
Another girl didn't realize just how much spelling counts.
Some thought that their body parts had sensitive feelings.
"I thought that any time a part of my body got itchy it was that part of my body telling me it needed some love and attention," another user wrote. "For example if my nose itched I would scratch it and then tell it that I love it and pat it a little."

Then there's the guy who was convinced that vampires ran in his family.
One person was seriously confused about being a virgin.
At least we've lived, learned, and can laugh at our mistakes now!
