How completely amazing and cool are the women of the US women's soccer team? On Sunday, July 7th, they won the World Cup. They're amazing athletes, an incredible example of the power of teamwork, and are just generally great role models for our kids to look up to. Megan Rapinoe is one of the co-captains of the US women's soccer team, and she's also just kind of an amazing personality and activist. We think naming a baby girl after her would be a great way to honor someone who's been outspoken and driven.

Alexandra Patricia Morgan Carrasco, known professionally as Alex Morgan, is one of the co-captains of the women's soccer team, and according to Time, she's the highest-paid among them due to all her endorsement deals. She's also the author of a book and the star of a film about a fictionalized version of herself — we think naming a baby girl Alexandra in her honor would be super cool.

Tierna Davidson plays on the women's national team, and is also a defender on the Chicago Red Stars. She was the first person drafted by her team after playing only three years at Stanford, and is a total rising star. We love the name Tierna, which is a feminine version of the Irish name Tierney, meaning lord.

Mallory Diane Pugh plays for the Washington Spirit and is a member of the National Women's Soccer League. She's been in two World Cup tournaments and was the youngest member in 2014, as well as being named US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year.

Morgan Brian is a midfielder for the USWNT, and also plays for the Chicago Red Stars. She was the youngest member of the team at the World Cup in 2015, and won the MAC Hermann Trophy two years running.
