As a Mom of 3, I’ve Relied on CeraVe to Care for My Kids’ Skin Throughout My Journey

Babies and kids always have clear skin. Right? Wrong! As a mom of three — 12-year-old Sebastian, 9-year-old Sofia, and 3-year-old Saide — I have learned along the way that babies and kids can have many different skin issues. And it has felt like my kids had basically everything in my 12 years of parenthood!

But another thing that I’ve learned: CeraVe baby skincare products are developed with pediatric dermatologists — and they’ve been basically the only products I’ve relied on for the past years to care for my kids’ sensitive skin from the time they were babies, helping me build the foundation to reinforce their skin barrier that continues to keep their skin healthy.

What skin ailments didn’t my kids have?

All three of them have been blessed with beautiful olive skin that tans easily. However, the dryness has been a problem for us, and especially for my youngest. From the time she was a baby, Saide has suffered from recurring diaper rashes and small eczema patches, from her booty to her arms and legs. Not to mention the severe cradle cap she had from a few weeks old until the condition cleared up when she was close to being 1.

Thankfully, we started using CeraVe Baby Wash & Shampoo early on.

CeraVe Baby Wash & Shampoo is fragrance-free, soap-free, pH balanced, and enhanced with ceramides to establish and maintain baby’s skin health from the time they’re young. As soon as her umbilical cord fell off, we started sponge baths using this gentle wash.

What are ceramides you ask? I was wondering the same thing and researched what these beneficial ingredients were and how they worked to help my kids’ skin. Ceramides are lipids, or oils, that make up about 50% of our skin’s lipids and form our natural skin barrier. A healthy skin barrier helps seal in moisture and keep out harmful elements.

Saide still suffers from eczematic patches, especially as weather changes in between seasons. We rely on CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Cream, which is gentle, but very effective at hydrating those dry areas and her skin in general. In addition to those amazing ceramides, the CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Cream contains fatty acids and cholesterol, ingredients that pediatric dermatologists recommend to maintain her skin’s protective barrier.

We stop Saide’s diaper rash in its tracks.

For Saide’s diaper rash, I rely on CeraVe Baby Healing Ointment to treat and prevent. This emollient skin protectant helps seal out the wetness that usually leads to nasty and painful diaper rash. And just like the CeraVe Baby family of products, the CeraVe Baby Healing Ointment was developed with pediatric dermatologists and contains three essential ceramides that help maintain Saide’s skin protective barrier and keep her tushie skin clear and happy.

Sofia and Sebastian both had (and still have!) extremely dry skin from the time they were young also.

Luckily, we’ve used CeraVe throughout their infancy and today, they incorporate CeraVe products into their daily skin care routines. Yes, skin care, because they’re not too young to start taking care of our body’s largest organ! From the time they were babies, I’ve relied on CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Lotion to take care of their delicate skin. And I have to come clean: even though they’re tweens, they still love the feel of the Baby Moisturizing Lotion to help keep their skin healthy and moisturized through the year (and through their own versions of the seasons: soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball!).
