There are some people (like every cast member on every season of The Real Housewives of wherever) who require that time with friends involve elaborate plans, fancy outfits, and spending tons of money. For the rest of us, what we really want is a Target friend. The Target friend is the person who will come to Target with us, grab a coffee, and stroll the store looking for clearance tags. While we're there, we get to swap gossip, try to figure out how this whole marriage and motherhood thing works, and laugh at ourselves.
Now life is super busy, so getting that Target friend time can be hard to come by, which is why we are a little bit obsessed with the latest episode of the Momtourage podcast (found in all the places where we listen to podcasts and presented by yours truly, CafeMom).
Hosts, mamas, and accidental best friends Ashley Hearon-Smith and Keri Setaro once again brought the "caffeinated Target run with a bestie energy" with their hilarious dissection of the highs and lows of Super Bowl commercials, Rihanna's performance while pregnant, and celebrity gossip about who is cheating, doing drugs, and whether J.Lo actually eats doughnuts. Yes, please, to all of that!
Tune in for the debate on sex with Tom Brady, and stay for the discussion of couples who sleep separately!
For the record, we're a hard "no" on wanting to sleep with Tom Brady, but listeners will have to tune in to the podcast to see where Keri and Ashley land on this incredibly important issue.
One of the things we like about Momtourage is getting to do a deeper dive in a relatable way to a hot button topic, and this episode was a juicy one! As the hosts share, the number of couples who sleep in separate beds is on the rise, but is sleeping separately a relationship red flag?
(Check out a snippet from the latest Momtourage episode that follows.)
What's really behind separate beds?
Keri and Ashley dig into all the reasons why couples might sleep separately and, just like a good coffee chat with a tried and true friend, the conversation got surprisingly real and deep.
If there isn't any Target friend time on the horizon, we suggest popping in some ear buds and listening to this episode on the next solo grocery run!
