Newly Postpartum Mom Catches Husband’s Encouraging Words About Her Body & the Internet Goes Wild

The postpartum phase is not for the faint-hearted. In addition to the responsibility of taking care of a helpless little human, you’re waiting for your hormones to balance back out. Your body is healing from one of the more arduous of life’s undertakings. And on top of all that, you may be wondering when your body will return to something you used to recognize.

That last part is a little superficial, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a real concern. One way to get through it is to have a support system that helps put things in proper context. 

New mom Shyann captured a sweet, candid moment on her phone.

One mother of two, @ShyannRenee, who had given birth less than a month ago, found herself analyzing her new body. She just so happened to set up her camera in front of the bathroom mirror to document what she saw. Doing so, she captured something she wasn’t expecting. Someone walked in the bathroom with a message she needed.

Right as this mom was lifting her shirt, examining her midsection, her husband walked in.

Taking her shirt out of her hand and pulling it back down, he said, “Don’t. Stop focusing on that. You look beautiful.” She responded simply saying, “Well, thank you.” Later, when she posted the video on TikTok, she had more to share.

'I couldn't do life without him,' Shyann wrote.

“In the text over the video, she wrote: “You’re 3 weeks postpartum after your 2nd baby and accidentally catch this on video. I swear I couldn’t do life without him!” In the caption for the video she wrote, “I’ve loved him since the moment I met him in 2014, and I’ll love him for every second for the rest of my life.”

The women of TikTok called Shyann 'rich.'

The women and fellow mothers of TikTok were equally impressed with Shyann’s man and were sure to let her know in the comments.

“With a little attitude behind it!!” one user wrote. “We love it.” Shyann responded. “He MEANT it haha.”

Other people spoke highly of what this type of partner would mean for this couple’s children. “Don’t know if you have girls or boys but this man is gonna raise gentlemen or princesses. Well done mama.”

Others described her as “rich.” Shyann agreed saying rich is an understatement and that she could die happy right now.

With so many women having an experience quite unlike this one, we’re happy Shyann is experiencing things as they’re supposed to be.
