Back in the day, girls would go out of their way to make sure they had a different prom dress than all of their classmates. But now, the rules have apparently changed, because thanks to social media, everyone wants the same thing. A designer dress has gone viral, making it the one every girl wants this year.
The Sherri Hill 57250 dress is the dress of dreams for the 2025 prom season. Girls everywhere are desperate to get their hands on one, even if they have to buy it secondhand.
The dress went viral in 2024.
In October 2024, model Ida Zeile posted a video of herself wearing the Sherri Hill 57250 dress on her TikTok. “Living out my princess fantasies on set today,” she captioned the post. The video has over 2 million likes, raising the dress to icon status almost instantly.
For those who want to look like a princess, the white and blue dress features a corset top and a layered tulle skirt. Its delicate floral pattern goes from top to bottom. And despite its $750 price tag, girls all over the country have been desperate to have it.

There’s something striking about the dress.
A spokesperson for Sherri Hill spoke with Today.com, confirming that 57250 is their best-selling prom dress of the year. Selling “tens of thousands” to date, the dress comes in sizes 000-26.
When designing her latest collection, Hill told Today.com she wanted to make a dress that “felt feminine and fresh.” She also wanted a print that “made a statement.” And she definitely did just that.
It’s selling out all over the country.

“We can’t keep it in stock,” Michigan dress shop owner Sarah Shmyr said. “Every day, I get phone calls asking about the dress, but unfortunately, it’s a little too late — they’re all spoken for.”
Austin shop owner Kristin Jacobs told the outlet her store has had preorders since January. “In past years, a girl won’t want a dress that she knows someone else has. This dress changed the game,” she said. “Girls don’t care if five people at their school have it — they want the ‘it’ dress.”
She added “I think this is a fun, new, fresh style that got people excited.”
The girls can’t get enough.
“I had to have it,” 17-year-old Texas resident Merrick Young told Today.com. After posting her prom pictures on Instagram, she says girls offered to buy or rent the dress from her. But she can’t imagine letting it go.

“You know, at first I was open to the idea of selling it, but now I don’t think I could ever get rid of it — even if I never wear it again,” she said. “I just love it too much.”
Eighteen-year-old Lauren Glass, who is from Georgia, echoed Young’s sentiments. “Everyone was coming up to me and saying, ‘You look like a princess!’”
And for fellow Georgia teen Bella Charles, the “fine China” looking print is what caught her eye. “It’s the most beautiful dress I’ve ever seen,” the 17-year-old said. “I’m obsessed with it.”
