20 YouTubers Kids Are Obsessed With (& What Every Mom Should Know)

As much as our kids love shows like Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig, sometimes YouTube is just where it's at. When it comes to screen time, YouTube can often be our kids' first choice, and it's easy to see why. There are so many channels and videos available to them, and it's as simple as picking out what they want to watch on a touch screen. But obviously, it's not all appropriate, and there's truly so much content out there that, as parents, it's hard for us to really determine if what our kids are watching on YouTube is family-friendly unless we watch every single video first.

Fortunately, that's where this list comes in. These are all the YouTubers that kids are really into these days, from JoJo Siwa to toy-review channels and everything in between. We also break down whether their channels are actually appropriate for little eyes and ears.

Feeling totally clueless about all things YouTube? Read on for what every parent needs to know about the most popular channels with kids.

Bailey Sarian

Bailey Sarian is a YouTuber who even some moms might enjoy. Basically, she does her makeup on camera while talking about different true-crime cases. Watching her apply makeup is actually kind of mesmerizing, so it's easy to see why kids like her. But kids who are easily spooked (or anyone younger than the age of 13) might want to wait until they're a bit older to watch.

Blippi

Blippi seems to be everywhere these days — even in the toy department at Target! It's easy to see why, since kids love him — and his videos are fun and educational, so totally safe to let them enjoy. Be warned that he does have a bit of a weird past, though. When he was younger, he made comedy videos involving poop, but he seems to have moved past that part of his career.

JoJo Siwa

Those of us who have daughters probably already know all about JoJo Siwa, the former Dance Moms star turned YouTuber who recently came out. Though her announcement about her sexuality turned some moms off, it's refreshing to see a teenager who loves all things upbeat and colorful share who she truly is so publicly. Now there is a role model.

After gaining nearly 30 million YouTube subscribers while reviewing toys, 9-year-old Ryan Kaji's YouTube channel Ryan's World is still going strong, and he even started releasing his own toys and merch. Even better? His fun, family- and education-centric videos are safe for kids to enjoy.

It's been more than 10 years since Colleen Ballinger made her YouTube debut as Miranda Sings, and now, her snobby, red lipstick-wearing character who sings for her subscribers has gained more than 10 million fans and even gone on tour and inspired her own Netflix series. Her videos are funny and kid-safe, though Colleen's personal vlogs (as herself) touch on topics like pregnancy, childbirth, and her marriage.

Gamer kids are probably also big fans of PrestonPlayz, a YouTuber who shares videos of himself playing games like Minecraft and Roblox. He keeps his content mostly focused on the game while also making it entertaining and funny to watch.

Yes, this is a long channel name, but Fun Toys Collector Disney Toys Review has gained more than 11 million subscribers by showing off different toys and unboxing them. The channel hasn't shared any new videos in a while, but chances are our kids will enjoy them for a long time to come since they just keep circulating.

SMOSH

The SMOSH YouTube channel is full of funny videos and commentary on pop culture and current events, but it's not all child-friendly. Older teens are probably good to go on this channel, but parents might want to screen certain videos first, since some contain mature language and drug references.

PewDiePie

Most of us are already familiar with PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg. He has been shooting videos for his 109 million subscribers for more than a decade, making him one of the most popular creators on the platform. His channel isn't family-friendly, though, and parents may feel more comfortable waiting until kids are 13 or older to watch.

Dude Perfect

On Dude Perfect's YouTube channel, a group of friends get together and do some entertaining things, like trick shots and water bottle flips. The other end of the channel is all comedy. But is it kid-safe? It's pretty clean overall and a fun watch, even for parents.

Mr. Beast

Mr. Beast is only in his early 20s, but he's spending his time raising money and doing challenge videos that end in him delivering thousands of dollars to deserving people. It's cool to watch. He has been called out in the past for using homophobic language, though, so that's something to keep in mind.

Like Nastya/Instagram

Like Nastya is a channel all about a 7-year-old girl from Russia named Nastya (short for Anastasia). The videos don't include much English, but they are very colorful and entertaining anyway, catching kids' attention, especially those who like watching a day in the life of a kid like them.

Little Diana

Little Diana is all about the adventures of, as the name would suggest, a little girl named Diana. It includes cartoon videos, videos she films with her family, and stories and nursery rhymes for kids to listen to that Diana acts out.

Logan & Jake Paul

Logan and Jake Paul are brothers and two of the most viewed creators on the YouTube platform, but they've become seriously controversial for good reason. Parents will likely want to think twice before they approve either brother's channel, especially after Logan filmed a video of a dead body.

ToyPudding TV

ToyPudding TV is a channel all about toys — a baby doll, in particular. It's literally just videos of someone playing with a doll, which is a bit dull for adults but entertaining for kids.

Hailey's Magical Playhouse

Hailey's Magical Playhouse/YouTube

Another kid-centric channel that's easy to recommend! Hailey's Magical Playhouse is about a little girl named Hailey and her adventures, including ones with her family. In the videos, she plays with toys like Barbies and shows off all the fun she's having. (And yes, we're jealous.)

Jeffree Star

Jeffree Star/YouTube

Jeffree Star's been making videos for a long time, and his popularity (mixed with his love of bright colors and all things makeup) has drawn people of all ages to his channel. But he's not appropriate for younger kids or teenagers. Not only does he swear, but he also makes references to drugs and sexual activity.

As another mega-popular beauty YouTuber, James Charles has extended himself to a young audience. While his channel and the majority of his videos are clean, James himself has been accused of grooming minors on the internet, as well as other controversies.

This family YouTube channel, The Fishfam, will easily attract kids because of the two young daughters in their family: Taytum and Oakley. Since this channel mainly focuses on the kids and life with their parents, fortunately, it's kid-friendly and pretty entertaining.
