Halloween is just around the corner, and many children still haven't figured out what they want to dress up as, or figured out how to communicate their dream costume to their parents. One 3-year-old boy confused his mother after sharing somewhat of a surprising Halloween costume request.
TikTok mom, @sierramiller086, is practically every mom trying to figure out what her toddler is saying. The young boy had his mother racking her brain as she tried to figure it out. When she finally understood his costume idea, his reaction was priceless!
The boy's mother captured everything on video.
Sierra asked her son at the beginning of the video, "What is this?" as she held up a drawing on a white piece of paper. The boy smiled and said, "a Quetzalcoatlus." At first, anyone hearing this for the first time would have no idea what the toddler was saying. "This is what you're talking about?" his mother asked in the one-minute clip.
The boy couldn't contain his excitement after his mother finally figured out his costume request. "Yes, a Quetzalcoatlus!" he said with the biggest smile on his face. He then asked his mother, "Can I hold the Quetzalcoatlus," to admire the drawing. "Here, hold the picture," Sierra said as she handed it to him.
Sierra was elated after figuring out her son's Halloween request.
“My 3-year-old has been trying to tell me that he wants to be a Quetzalcoatlus for Halloween, and I finally figured out what he was saying,” Sierra wrote in the caption. She continued recording the adorable moment and said, "Are you happy I finally figured it out?" The young boy replied "Yes!" while adoring the picture.
At first, he wasn't sure if it was the flying reptile species. But he examined the photo again and said, "it is a Quetzalcoatlus!" The boy continued admiring the picture while sharing historical facts about the dinosaur with his mom. "Yes, this what I'm talking about — a Quetzalcoatlus!" the toddler exclaimed.
What is a Quetzalcoatlus, and where did they live?
According to Earth Archives, Quetzalcoatlus is considered "the largest flying animal of all time." The reptile group, also known as pterosaurs, flew across North America during the dinosaur age. "[They are] the most famous member of the azhdarchids, a family of pterosaurs limited to the Cretaceous period, the time between 144 and 66 million years ago," according to the website.
Quetzalcoatlus are divided into two groups: the mid-sized creatures are called tyrannosaurs, and the largest one of their kind are called "the huge Quetzalcoatlus northropi." According to the Smithsonian, the reptile group later went extinct and died 66 million years ago.
We can definitely see why the toddler had an interest in these species!
