Tori and Zach Roloff had a pretty scary experience this week. On Thursday, Zach underwent emergency brain surgery after it was discovered that he would need a shunt revision. And now, Tori is updating fans on how it all went now that the surgery is over and her husband is recovering.
The scary incident seemed to begin on Wednesday.
As People reported, that was when Tori shared a since-expired Instagram Story that though Zach would be having an emergency surgery, it was also considered a "routine surgery."
"It feels big to us but we trust his doctors and their ability and knowledge! Any prayers are greatly appreciated!" she wrote.
At the same time, Zach's dad, Matt Roloff, shared a similar update.
Matt shared his own words in an Instagram post on his own account, alongside a photo of his grandchildren at the holidays.
"We are all praying for Zach as he undergoes a important shunt revision. He’s in good hands with Tori advocating tooth and nail for his best interest … all prayers up please for Zachs successful recovery," he wrote.
Longtime fans of Little People, Big World might remember Zach having to undergo a corrective surgery for the shunt back in the show's first season. He's had it since he was a child.
Now, Tori is sharing a post-surgery update.
She posted photos of Zach in his hospital bed and let her followers know that he was doing "well" after surgery.
"We are so incredibly blessed by our neurosurgeon team and their attentiveness to Zach’s needs! Thank you to our friends and family who have all reached out asking to help," she wrote. "We feel so loved and supported by you."
She added that Zach's mom, Amy, had been "holding down the fort" with their three kids, Jackson, Liliah, and Josiah, while they were away.
"I’m here praying that Zach’s recovery is quick and easy and that this will be our answered prayers to relieving his migraines!" Tori wrote, calling her husband a "rockstar" for handling brain surgery so well.
Amy also provided another cheerful update.
"Zach had to have an emergency surgery on his shunt, which was very early this morning. So far so good and we're praying his recovery is strong and goes well," Amy wrote in her post on Instagram. "I know he doesn't want to be here again anytime soon. I've been watching the grandkids so she has been able to be with him. Zach's a trooper as well as Tori."
Sounds like everything worked out the best it possibly could have in such a scary situation.
It's good to hear that Zach is doing better.
We can't imagine how stressful this situation must have been for him and his family, but he must be relieved to have the surgery behind him and to be on the road to recovery.
We're sending him all the healing vibes. Here's hoping he'll be feeling like his old self again soon!
