Talk about bad timing. Just days before King Charles is set to ascend to the throne — and days after the Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated their wedding anniversary — an old blog post from Meghan Markle's now defunct lifestyle site has resurfaced. Kate Middleton was the subject of the piece, which took aim at the pomp and circumstance surrounding her wedding. Something tells us Meghan is going to be glad she decided to skip the coronation now that this is floating around again.

The post appeared on The Tig in 2014.
Apparently, Meghan had grown tired of hearing "endless conversation" about Kate Middleton and Prince William's 2011 wedding.
Page Six says Meghan penned the piece two years before meeting Prince Harry and four years before she had her own much talked-about royal wedding … something she likely would have never predicted around the time the post was written.
Meghan wrote about how she had bigger aspirations than becoming a princess.
Meghan claimed to be nothing like other girls who "dream of being princesses" and instead had stronger female leads to look up to, like She-Ra: Princess of Power.
"For those of you unfamiliar with the '80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength," she wrote. "We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here."
The post seemed to shame those who were enthralled by the royal wedding.
Making a pointed remark about "grown women" who hold onto their "childhood fantasy" of becoming a princess, she brought up the ongoing chatter surrounding Kate and William's big day.
"Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate," the post continued.
Given that this post would've been right around the time Kate and William revealed they were expecting their second child, we imagine Kate was a hot topic in plenty of circles.
Kate and Meghan's relationship has been strained for years.
While people often compare the two women since they both married into the royal family as outsiders, Kate and Meghan don't seem to have too much else in common.
It's sad, really, since Kate, William, Meghan, and Harry all seemed to be poised to become the new faces of the royal family and set a new tone for the monarchy. Instead, all they've seemed to have done is spark rumors about infighting before eventually going their separate ways when Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their official royal roles.

Of course, this timing couldn't be worse for the royals.
Harry will be headed back to the UK soon to attend his father's coronation. With this old blog post floating around again, there's likely to be some bad blood between William and Kate and the Sussexes.
Not that things were exactly going to be smooth sailing between them otherwise. With everything that Harry has written and said about his family over the past few months, there was likely little that would put the foursome on good terms over the weekend.
At least Meghan will get to miss out on any drama that goes down on Saturday. We're sure she's happy with her decision to stay home with the kids while Harry is traveling.
