Kris Jenner might be one of the most recognizable mothers and grandmothers on top of being the queen “momager.” Throughout her reality TV career, we’ve seen Kris transition from mom to a grandmother.
But after recently sharing a happy birthday message for one of her grandkids, critics have called her out for how she uses social media to send these messages.
Kris Jenner is a grandma to 12 kids.
Kris has a lot of birthdays to keep track of between her six children and her 12 grandchildren: Kourtney’s kids, Mason, Penelope, and Reign (plus she’s pregnant with her fourth baby); Kim’s kids, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm; Kourtney's kids, True and Tatum; Rob's daughter, Dream; and Kylie's kids, Stormi and Aire.
Despite having so many dates to keep track of, Kris never forgets to send a message on social media to share her happy birthday greetings and words of affirmation for her grandkids.
Most recently, Kris shared a happy birthday message for Penelope.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful granddaughter, Penelope!” Kris wrote, posting with a carousel of several photos of the birthday girl through the years. “You are such a bright, smart, talented, creative, kind, sweet, thoughtful, and amazing girl and I’m so so proud of you!!! You are the best granddaughter, daughter, cousin, sister, friend and niece.”
She ended her post, writing, “I love you so much my precious girl and I thank God for you every single day!!! I can’t wait to watch you grow and to make more cherished memories together. I love you Lovey xo”
It was a very sweet message, and her post was flooded with birthday wishes.
But there were other people who wrote in the comments that they’ve noticed a trend with these birthday wishes.
“She uses the exact same words for all of the kids,” another Instagram user noted.
“Kris needs to hire someone to write her messages and personalise them to each family member,” suggested someone else. “They can't be copy and paste.”
"Kris needs to step to chat GPT to write her birthday greetings,” another commenter wrote. “They are always the same."
"I literally just said the same thing,” another Instagram user wrote. “I could decipher what was in that paragraph before I read it in its entirety. So predictable and repetitive."
Others snarked that it was a good idea for her to keep the birthday notes similar.
“Kris is going to have that list of adjectives ready for everyone's birthday!” joked someone else.
“Smart idea keep them all the same that way she won’t be accused of having a favorite,” another person suggested, “although we know she has one.”
“Am I the only one noticing that she uses the same words from north’s birthday?” asked another commenter.
Three weeks before Penelope’s birthday, Kris celebrated North West’s birthday.
“Happy Birthday to my beautiful granddaughter North!!!!,” she wrote, also sharing several photos in a carousel. “You are one of the most precious gifts to our family and I love you so so much!! You have such a big heart and are such an amazing daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, cousin and friend to everyone!!” which sounds really similar to Penelope’s note.
But Kris went a little further for North than Penelope, writing, “Your creativity and talent amazes me every day. You are so smart and love to dance and sing and write and create and your love for fashion is so much fun to watch! You are a spectacular young artist in every way. You are so full of energy and your beautiful smile lights up every room.”
The message went on for another paragraph with Kris letting North know she’s a blessing, and how much joy she brings to the world.
She did share similar messages for her other grandkids this year, too.
In February, Kris shared a birthday message for Stormi, writing: "Happy birthday to my beautiful, sweet, smart, funny, adventurous, loving granddaughter Stormi!! I can’t believe you are 5! You spread happiness and joy wherever you go and your energy and laughter are infectious!! Thank you for being such a bright light in all of our lives. You are the best daughter, granddaughter, cousin, friend and big sister!! Your brother is so lucky to have you to look up to, and I can’t wait to watch your bond grow as you get older. We are all blessed to have you in our lives, my precious girl. I love you to the moon and back, Stormi, and I can’t wait to celebrate your special day with you! Lovey xo"
And one for True in April: "Happy birthday to my beautiful granddaughter True!!!! You are such a gorgeous light with your mesmerizing smile and your effervescent personality that captures our hearts and lights up every room! You are such an amazing daughter, granddaughter, cousin, best friend, and the perfect sister. You have such a beautiful spirit about you, and are so kind, sweet, giving, generous, thoughtful, and are the best dancer ever!!!! Thank you for bringing so much happiness, joy, and love to our family. I love you so much TuTu and I am so blessed that God chose me to be your grandmother…. I love you to the moon and back!!!! Forever and ever… Lovey xo"
Back on Penelope’s birthday message, fans pointed to how it was both similar but different to North’s note.
“Compare this to north’s birthday wishes!” one person wrote. “You can telll north is the favourite.”
“Wow you mentioned Kourtney’s child,” another person wrote.
“Be less obvious with your favorites,” someone else chimed in.
It's probably very unfair for critics to assume Kris has favorites (they've said similar things about Kris's kids), and we're sure that Kris celebrates her grandkids more than what she posts on social media.
