Ariana Grande Is Now Asking for Spousal Support in Divorce From Dalton Gomez

After Ariana Grande officially filed for divorce from Dalton Gomez on September 18, the details of the filing have emerged. According to court documents, Ariana is asking for spousal support from her ex — and she's hoping that the court will honor the prenup they both signed before they tied the knot in 2021. This news comes months after rumors first sparked about the end of their relationship and the beginning of Ariana's romance with Wicked costar Ethan Slater.

Ariana outlined her request in the court documents.

Not only did she ask for her prenuptial agreement to be honored, but she's also asking for spousal support. As E! News reported, she wants to make sure that her earnings and "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects" that she obtained before, during, and after her marriage will be considered separate property.

She listed their date of separation as February 20.

So despite rumors that Ariana cheated on Dalton with Ethan, it seems that the couple had already been separated for a few months before that relationship reportedly began.

In his response to the filing, Dalton agreed on the February 20 date and did not request any spousal support himself.

There was a reason they waited so long to file.

According to what a source close to the former couple told E! News, she and Dalton have been taking extra care to be kind with each other during this difficult process.

"They were taking their time together to slowly work through the details of the agreement privately before filing. They've been really caring and respectful of one another every step of this process," the source said. "It's been a very kind and patient uncoupling process. They have both moved on."

Ariana seems to have been keeping busy since the split.

Ariana hasn't just been busy filming the big screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Wicked this year. Those who follow her on social media know she's been full steam ahead in promoting her R.E.M. Beauty line, spending time with friends and family, and celebrating the 10-year anniversary of her album Yours Truly over the last few weeks.

Ariana and Dalton's split came as a surprise to fans.

But now that they're going their separate ways and have set the wheels in motion when it comes to the legal aspect of their breakup, hopefully things will continue to move smoothly as they disentangle their lives.
