As much as we love our children, there’s something so satisfying about putting them down for a much-needed nap. It gives them a chance to rest up for the second part of the day and us a chance to catch our breath and shut our brains down from the constant stimulation of taking care of children.
But in our eagerness, the transition to the crib can sometimes go wrong. Either the baby wakes up when they realize they’re no longer in your arms, or you might even take a serious tumble like one grandfather did.

A toddler's crib mattress had been lowered, and that caused some problems.
Ramon Aranda, a grandfather in California, went viral for attempting to tuck his granddaughter into her crib but failing terribly.
Two-year-old Lenna had been climbing in and out of her crib, so her mattress was lowered to keep her inside. Ramon misjudged the distance, and when he went to put down his granddaughter, he fell into the crib with her. Everything was captured on a video monitor.

Ramon managed to keep his body off Lenna.
Even though Ramon had clearly lost his balance, he managed to maneuver his body perfectly so he didn’t land on his granddaughter with his 165-pound frame. “I just love my granddaughter to death,” Ramon told CNN. “That’s for sure, cuz that’s the only one we have.”
Once he gathered himself, he put his glasses back on his face and left the room. In all of the confusion, he left his phone in Lenna’s crib and her shoes on in bed. But otherwise, there was no serious damage.
Lenna's mom shared the video a year and some change later.
The family got to relive the moment with the world after Lenna’s mother shared it on TikTok a year and a half later. The video warmed so many hearts that Ramon and his granddaughter were featured by several news outlets. The video also provided some much-needed laughs for people on TikTok.
“Im wheezing,” one user wrote. “Your daughter was like lemme just not say anything cause he already going through it.”
Others were tickled by Lenna’s calmness during the whole thing. “The baby was so calm I'd think this was their routine,” another user wrote.
The video brought joy to a lot of people.
TikTok users thanked mom Kelsea Aranda for sharing the video, which has been viewed more than 25 million times.
Although Ramon initially said he was embarrassed by the fall and wouldn’t necessarily want people to see it, Kelsea said she and her family were glad to make so many people laugh.
“Thanks for the laugh! I needed it! Merry Christmas!” one user admitted.
Another commenter shared the value of grandparents: “Grandparents are life’s greatest joy.”
