Missing 14-Year-Old Girl Found Hiding Under Blanket in the Back Seat of Man’s Car

A man living in Missouri has pleaded guilty after engaging in a relationship with a teen girl. Although the girl initially lied about her age, when Yeison Perdomo found out she was a minor, he didn’t end the relationship. Instead, the grown man apparently continued to contact the teen and went so far as to pick her up from school. When her parents reported her missing, the two were found hiding in his car. He is facing imprisonment and will possibly be deported, among other consequences.

The 30-year-old has pleaded guilty to one count of coercion and enticement of a minor, KMOV reported. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Because Perdomo is a legal resident of Spain and not a legal US resident, he will likely be deported after he serves his prison sentence.

Perdomo met the 14-year-old girl on a dating website in February 2024. According to a news release from the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, the girl initially said she was 20 years old. She then told the man she was 15 before admitting she was “not yet” 15, the plea agreement stated. Between February 28, 2024 and March 8, 2024, the pair exchanged over 8,400 text messages.

In their messages, Perdomo mentioned marrying the girl when she was 18 to gain US citizenship. They also discussed meeting to engage in sexual activity.

On March 8, 2024, Perdomo picked up the girl from school, taking her to his home in Berkeley, Missouri. When she didn’t come home that night, her parents called police and reported her missing. Officers from the Chesterfield Police Department identified Perdomo’s car and followed him home.

Early in the morning on March 9, 2024, officers from both the Berkeley and Chesterfield police departments found Perdomo in his car, according to the release from the US attorney’s office. The teenage girl was hiding under a blanket in the back seat. Refusing police commands, the man had to be dragged from the car. The girl told police they had engaged in sexual activity.

Both the victim’s family and Perdomo agreed on the 10-year sentence. He also will have to register as a sex offender.
