Todd Chrisley’s Daughter Lindsie No Longer Uses Her Dad’s ‘Problematic’ Last Name

Two months after Todd and Julie Chrisley received a presidential pardon that released them from prison, Todd’s daughter, Lindsie, has made a major change to distance herself from her family. Though she’s gone by Lindsie Chrisley professionally for most of her working life, she quietly changed her last name on social media recently, and now that people are starting to notice, she’s opening up about what pushed her to make the controversial decision.

If you follow Lindsie on Instagram, you might have realized that she’s now listed as “Lindsie Landsman” in her bio on the site. The new last name didn’t come out of thin air; it’s actually the last name of her boyfriend, David Landsman. But as The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported, the name change isn’t because she and David are now married (or even engaged).

Instead, it’s because she’s discovered it’s harmful for her to be connected to the Chrisley family, who she’s been estranged from for a while, as she explained on her podcast, The Southern Tea.

Lindsie said having ties to her famous family members “did not create income or opportunity” – instead, it was the opposite.

“In fact, it became very problematic with me being associated in any capacity in business and has been problematic for projects that I have done post-Chrisley Knows Best and have been asked to go by another name altogether,” she said.

Her decision behind the change was one she said was made as a way of “reclaiming my peace and stepping into my future that is defined by love, growth over the past couple of years and just forward movement,” and David’s last name felt right to her because “he built a safe and loving relationship that allows for stability” for her and her son, Jackson.

“Sometimes, the decisions I make are genuinely because that’s what feels right to me, and that’s all the validation I need for myself,” Lindsie shared in a post on The Southern Tea‘s Instagram. “I’m creating a future that feels right for me and my son, and I won’t stop doing what feels best in achieving that.”

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that her family isn’t necessarily surprised about the name change.

“There hasn’t been a real relationship in a long time, so the name change isn’t surprising,” the insider shared. “The timing just feels more calculated than heartfelt. A lot of pain has been caused over the years, and the space between them has brought a sense of peace the family had not felt in a long time.

“This only confirms that distance is what’s healthiest,” the source added. “If this helps her feel more in control or seen, that is her decision, and the family has made peace with the way things are.”
