Fans have been wondering what’s going on with Kelly Clarkson, and now, she’s finally opening up about what her family has been going through. After the past several months have seen Kelly canceling concerts and disappearing from her popular talk show, she canceled the remaining dates of her Las Vegas residency on Wednesday, revealing that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is “ill.”
Kelly shared the news on social media.
“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Kelly wrote in the post she shared on Instagram on Wednesday night. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
Kelly concluded, “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
Fans immediately showed up to support her.
Instead of being upset about the shows being postponed, fans commented on her Instagram post to let her know that she was doing the right thing.
“Those kids need you more than we do! Go be the best momma! Best wishes to all involved,” one commenter wrote, while another shared, “Being a mom comes first, everything else can wait. Love and prayers to all of you.”
This news comes one month after reports that Kelly was facing ‘hidden battles’ in her personal life.
In July, a source close to Kelly told Page Six that her personal life has recently been “so insanely complicated.”
“Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to,” the insider said, adding, “it’s a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her.”
So far, Kelly hasn’t shared any specifics on what health issues Brandon is facing, but it makes sense she would want to be there for her children during this difficult time. Here’s hoping that he’s healthy again soon and Kelly will be able to reschedule those Vegas shows.
