Harold Eugene Clark Sr., 64, went missing in Georgia in late 2023 after calling his wife to tell her he was lost in the woods. Now, his family is speaking out 20 months later, as he still hasn’t been found. “Every day it hurts more and more,” Clark’s daughter, Shawndolyn, told WJCL in an interview that aired August 25, 2025.
Her father was last seen on December 21, 2023, according to a news release from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. Despite deputies locating his 2007 Toyota Camry in the woods, Clark remains missing with no signs of where he might be.
In May 2024, his wife, Sharon Clark, recounted the morning he disappeared. “I leaned over, kissed him on his forehead and he had a smile on his face,” she told WSAV. “I told him we’ll talk later.”
After spending the day with friends, he never returned home. “He called me at 8:30 that night and told me, ‘I am on my way home. Have you finished cooking?’” Sharon Clark said, per WSAV.
The next day, Harold Clark reportedly called to tell his wife he was lost in the woods, WJCL reported. “He says he remembers calling me, telling me he was on his way home and he said, ‘I don’t know how I got here,'” Sharon Clark added. “He said, ‘I don’t even know where I am at.’”
Ultimately, she called 911. Her husband’s vehicle was discovered in the woods in McIntosh County 10 months after he disappeared, but no updates on his whereabouts have come since.
“I really don’t think we got treated fairly,” Sharon Clark told WCJL. “It was like, ‘OK, we went out, we moved. We didn’t see anything. There’s no sign of foul play.’”
In a statement to People, a spokesperson for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office shared, “The last known cellphone tower information for Mr. Clark’s cellphone was also in the [wildlife management area] in McIntosh [County].”
Despite 20 months passing, Harold Clark’s family urged anyone with information to report it.
“I’m angry because I know somebody knows something, but they won’t come forward and say anything,” Sharon Clark told WJCL. “But you can be anonymous. Just tell the people what you heard, what you may know.”
