Uber Driver Claims Mom She Didn’t Know Left Baby With Her Overnight To Go Clubbing

We’ve heard some wild Uber stories, but a recent incident in St. Louis might top them all. A woman named Quita Mayess apparently arranged a ride for herself and her baby with a driver named Jay Love. Things started out like a typical ride request. But then Mayess allegedly asked Love to take her daughter to a babysitter’s house. She agreed, and that’s when the whole night went downhill.

Love sounded off on Facebook after picking up Mayess for a ride on October 13, 2025. She alleged Mayess wanted a ride to a nightclub, and when Love arrived to pick her up, Mayess had a very young baby with her. Love said Mayess asked her to take the baby to a sitter for her, which she obliged. But when she got to the sitter’s, no one was home. Screenshots show Love contacted Mayess multiple times, but she didn’t respond.

When Mayess finally connected with Love hours later, she told her to take the baby to her father. Shocker: When she got there, no one was home. Love texted Mayess for hours, trying to get a response and some guidance as to where to take the baby.

The mother finally responded from another person’s phone, claiming hers died. Mayess admitted she was still out partying and would be there to pick up the baby around 12:30 a.m. Guess what? She didn’t show up.

On the morning of October 14, Love shared a video on Facebook, still holding the woman’s baby.

“Why are you leaving your child with somebody you don’t even know?” Love asked.

She explained that she took Mayess to her event and accepted extra money to take the baby to her next destination. Love said it was 8 p.m. when she dropped Mayess off, and she quickly realized the mother had no plans for her infant.

“How did you all run around all last night and not be able to get your baby? I don’t know the lady like that, I just Uber her,” Love said.

Her frustration grew, and she continued trying to contact Mayess until nearly 2 a.m. before finally going to sleep. Love kept the baby overnight, without calling the police, and Mayess finally showed up to take her home.

We’re with Love on this one. Who in the world leaves their baby with a stranger? We don’t even want to think about how terribly this story could have ended. Mayess got so incredibly lucky that, just as her name says, she found a woman with a lot of love in her heart.

Love’s Facebook posts and video went viral, and people couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

“Omggg imma cryyy how could she do that,” someone wrote. “This is so sad.”

“You did the right thing girl,” a comment read. “God See you work.”

So many people agreed, like this person who wrote, “Your heart tooooo biggg !! She lucky it was you.”

The most heartbreaking part of the video is watching this innocent little baby look up at Love, a total stranger, with complete trust. In a world with so much bad, it’s truly heartwarming to see the good in people. We can’t lie; she’s much more forgiving than us. We would’ve called the police. Hopefully Mayess’ new internet fame will encourage her to be a bit more careful and her baby remains safe.
