16-Year-Old Allegedly Shot & Killed His Newborn Daughter After Burying Her Body in the Snow

A Wisconsin man is finally going to trial after being in jail for four years. Logan Kruckenberg-Anderson, who is now an adult, was arrested in 2021 after allegedly admitting to killing his newborn daughter. At the time of the killing, he was just 16, and he and his girlfriend had determined they couldn’t keep the child. Despite knowing there were safer options, Kruckenberg-Anderson took matters into his own hands.

Initially, he lied to police about what he did. Now, he is having his day in court, and hopefully justice will finally be served.

On October 14, 2025, Kruckenberg-Anderson, now 21, faced his final pretrial hearing for the 2021 killing of his newborn daughter, The Monroe Times reported.

In January 2021, then 16-year-old Kruckenberg-Anderson was arrested and charged with first-degree homicide as an adult and hiding the corpse of a child after he admitted to killing his newborn daughter, Harper.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the time, the teen told investigators he had placed the naked newborn in a snow-filled tree in the woods of the Village of Albany, Wisconsin, WMTV reported. Prosecutors said the teen then covered the newborn with snow and walked away, knowing she would die of exposure to the freezing cold. He allegedly could hear the baby crying, which caused him to break down, dropping to his knees and crying himself.

Investigators were led to the baby’s body, and a member of the Wisconsin State Crime lab discovered she had been shot. Kruckenberg-Anderson was questioned again after the discovery of Harper’s body and admitted to shooting her twice in the head. The complaint noted two bullets were found at the scene where her body was located.

It was determined that the baby was alive when she was shot, according to the autopsy.

The arrest of Kruckenberg-Anderson came after a man called authorities, claiming that his teenage daughter had given birth in a bathtub on January 5, 2021. He said Kruckenberg-Anderson had taken the baby, and no one had seen her since, WMTV reported.

When the baby’s mother spoke to investigators, she told them she and Kruckenberg-Anderson decided they couldn’t keep the baby. They knew they needed to do something to get rid of her. At first, the boy told investigators he had given the baby to a friend named Tyler, whom he had met through Snapchat. He told them he paid Tyler $60 to take the baby to an adoption agency in Madison, Wisconsin.

According to the criminal complaint, a juvenile turned a gun in to police, saying Kruckenberg-Anderson had given it to him days earlier. The caliber of the gun matched the bullets and casings found by the newborn’s body.

Logan Kruckenberg-Anderson’s trial begins on October 27 and is expected to last at least 10 days, per the Times. No charges were ever filed against the baby’s mother.
