I think parents are all morbidly, slightly obsessed with death. It may not even be conscientious, but I think in the back of our minds we are constantly aware of its presence, whether it is fearing our own too soon or, worse, it coming for our children too soon. The only thing I imagine to be worse than knowing something horrific befell your child is wondering if something horrific happened to them because they somehow went missing. The not knowing and powerlessness that comes with that has to be all-consuming. Sadly, one father in Florida is grappling with that harsh reality.
Gordon Terrelonge is stuck with endless “what-ifs” about his 10-year-old daughter, Gabrielle Terrelonge, whom he last saw six months ago. After getting in a fight with her mother, Passha Davis, he lost touch with his daughter. In October, Terrelonge learned through online jail records that Davis was arrested in Margate, Florida. He contacted police to inquire about who was caring for Gabrielle. He told CNN that was when he and the police learned at the same time she was missing.
Gabrielle was not with her mother when Davis was arrested after reportedly shoplifting, and as far as police and the FBI who are now involved know, she was last seen with Davis on June 30, 2025. They were aboard a Greyhound bus going from Broward County to Orlando.
Davis was arrested again, this time in connection with Gabrielle’s disappearance, but she claims to not know where she is. In fact, according to an affidavit, she told police “that she should be with her father.” Terrelonge, however, hasn’t seen her since April and is cooperating with the investigation.
According to WSVN, an aunt of Gabrielle’s who wished to remain anonymous, told the outlet she had been vying to take the young girl into her home because she and her mother had allegedly been living on the streets.
“We don’t have any clue where she is. I mean it would have been better if they even didn’t want to give her to me they could have taken her and put her in foster care, but there was more than enough family members that were willing to take her but nobody was willing to help to do the right thing,” the aunt said. “Her family loves her and we are looking for her and would like her to return safely and would like her to come and be with us away from harm.”
CNN reported that Davis appeared in court on November 5 to face child neglect charges that state she “failed to provide any reasonable explanation as to the whereabouts of her minor child” and “failed to provide adequate services and supervision necessary to maintain her physical and mental health.” Her lawyer said she claims to be innocent of these charges. Davis is being held at a county jail on a $100,000 bond. In an arraignment on November 17, she told the judge she suffers from a mental illness, and she will be evaluated for competency by November 26.
Gabrielle is described as a Black female, standing about 4 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, and has shoulder-length black hair.
She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black long pants, and white Crocs. Police and the FBI are asking for the public’s assistance to find Gabrielle. If anyone has any information, contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, submit a tip online, or call the Margate Police Department at 954-972-7111 or 911.
