A judge has ordered a Las Vegas teenager to remain in jail without bond following a deadly car crash. Jose Gutierrez, 19, allegedly drove his car more than 100 miles per hour and crashed into 11 other vehicles. His pregnant girlfriend, 20-year-old Adilene Duran Rincon, died in the crash. Authorities believe Gutierrez intentionally caused the accident, but they’re still trying to determine why.
The accident occurred on November 18, 2025, and killed Duran Rincon and 38-year-old Edward Garcia, People reported. According to a news release from Las Vegas police, Gutierrez allegedly slammed an Infiniti G37 into a line of cars stopped at a red light. Both fatalities occurred at the scene. Emergency responders took two additional people to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Per KSNV, District Attorney Steve Wolfson said prosecutors do not believe drugs or alcohol had anything to do with the accident.
“Therefore, we believe based on all of the evidence to date, including a very descriptive video, that his actions were intentional, which gives rise to a charge of murder,” Wolfson explained.
Wolfson added that authorities had no indication Gutierrez attempted to brake or stop his vehicle at all.
Gutierrez faces two attempted murder charges and is in jail without bond, Fox 5 reported.
Duran Rincon’s brother, Isaias Duran, told the outlet his sister had a lot of joy. “She was happy,” he said. “She’d always tell jokes with us.”
He added that the family was looking forward to the couple’s baby. He wants the truth.
“I want justice — to figure out what happened before the accident. What happened before,” Duran told Fox 5. “That’s the only thing I want to know.”
Loved ones created a GoFundMe account for Duran-Rincon’s final expenses. They’ve collected nearly $6,000 thus far.
“I’m so sorry beautiful. My heart goes out to you and your family. This crash happened 2 min from my home. I have been thinking about it non stop. I don’t know you but I have been crying for you,” a donor wrote. “God bless your family as they get through the loss. I heard you were pregnant too. My heart breaks. I am pregnant also and if I’m having a girl I want to name my daughter after you. You have such a beautiful name Adilene. Rest in peace darling.”
Why would someone drive that fast on purpose if they weren’t on a death mission? The couple appeared happy on social media, but as we know, that’s not always the real story.
