Teen Reportedly Gave Police False Identity, Leading to a Desperate Social Media Plea for Help

Police in Florida had a bizarre mystery on their hands that they apparently needed the public’s help solving. They reportedly found a juvenile near 936 Southwest and First Avenue in the Brickell area of Miami. That could have been the happy ending to a family’s search for their missing son, but to reunite them, the police needed him to tell the truth. He allegedly gave authorities a false identity and refused to tell the truth. Police flooded social media asking for help.

According to Local 10, police found the boy wandering alone around noon on December 18, 2025. The name the boy gave them did not match records, so the Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of the juvenile.

The Miami-Dade Police Department posted a flyer with a photo of the teen on X. It described him as 5 feet 10 inches tall, approximately 170 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair.

As word of the boy’s discovery spread on social media, many people shared theories about how he might have ended up in Miami.

“Maybe he saw social media about Miami, and decided to come here on his own. Miami is the most popular city on reels,” someone suggested.

Others thought he might be a crime victim. “Possibly a kidnapping victim. Taken at what age? Who knows,” another person guessed.

“Yes, that’s what I think too,” someone agreed. “The kidnappers give them different names.”

Others had questions about his mental state when police found him.

“Was he cognizant of what day it was, who the president is, etcetera? Does he have a disability? Was he able to speak in the first place? There are a lot of factors at play,” one person asked.

Police gave an update on X on December 22. “The juvenile has been identified. A special thanks to those who retweeted this post,” it read.

Officials gave zero other details about who the juvenile is or his backstory. Hopefully, he is now safe, either back with his family or with law enforcement who can protect him.
