What to Know
Guy Fieri is best known as a celebrity chef, but part of what makes him so instantly recognizable is his unique look — blonde frosted tips, dark facial hair, and usually, a boldly patterned shirt (flames, anyone?). But now that he’s changed his entire appearance for a brand new Super Bowl commercial for his 58th birthday, fans are struggling to digest the change. And to be fair, he does look very different. You could pass this guy on the street without realizing you’re in the presence of a culinary legend!
He first showed off his new appearance on his birthday.

It’s hard to even tell the man in the video standing next to the birthday cake is Guy Fieri — he has dark hair, a freshly shaven face, and is wearing very typical dad attire: a blue plaid button down shirt with khakis. Who is this dude?!
“Hey there. After so many years of celebrating my birthday as Guy, I figured this year I’d celebrate as just a guy. Happy birthday to me,” he says before leaning over the blow out the candles.
Well, that’s certainly a change.
Fans have a lot of feelings about the change.
“They took his flavor away!” one person replied to his post, while another wrote, “welcome to Plain White Bread Town” instead of Flavor Town.
Guy even responded to one of the comments about his new look on X. One fan wrote, “Guy Fieri has done the impossible for me. Every time a guy goes blond I think ‘this looks weird.’ Fieri goes natural and I think THAT is weird.”
To that, Guy replied, “I’m sorry if my new haircut bothers you.”
According to Guy, AI had nothing to do with his transformation for the ad.
While talking to People about his new look — which is a preview of the transformation he’s made in his upcoming Super Bowl commercial for Bosch — he said that the makeover was pretty intense, and the commercial itself took two days of filming.
“It took two hours to put the wig on,” he said. “When you see the picture, you’re either going to want to buy a life insurance policy from me or you’re going to want to go out to Bingo.”
His spokesperson added, “Guy’s birthday post is not AI. The video was shot with Guy Fieri himself, and the Justaguy transformation was achieved using high-end post-production visual effects.”
The good news? If you’re not a fan of Guy’s new look, it’s not permanent (though it may take some time for that beard to grow back).
