JonBenét Ramsey’s Father Denies Viral Claim Linking Her to Jeffrey Epstein

A disturbing conspiracy theory involving JonBenét Ramsey has gone viral on social media nearly 30 years after her death. JonBenét was just six years old when she was found dead in her family’s home in December 1996. Though her murder has been investigated for years, the case remains unsolved. People continue to remain interested in the case, which has recently garnered attention because of viral videos linking the young girl to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

One video shared on TikTok shows a framed photo from Epstein’s home. The image in the frame is of Epstein with a young girl sitting on his shoulders. The girl’s face is redacted, but the video tries to suggest that the girl in the photo could be JonBenét. Additionally, the same video claims Ghislaine Maxwell attended JonBenét’s sixth birthday party.

JonBenét’s father says these claims are not true.

When speaking to TMZ, JonBenét’s dad, John Ramsey, said he hasn’t seen the viral video, but it’s not accurate. He suggested that the viral video could actually be AI-generated. “Absolutely no truth to it,” he said. “I haven’t seen this, but with A.I. anything is possible.”

Though the theory is disturbing, John didn’t seem surprised that people tried to link him to Epstein. “I figured one of these days I would be accused of being an Epstein pal. Hasn’t happened yet,” he told TMZ. “Internet people can be very cruel.”

It’s been more than 29 years, but the case is still a “top priority.”

In December 2025, Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn said the unsolved case is still being investigated, ABC News reported. Last year, investigators continued to interview people and collect evidence in an attempt to gain more information. “It is never too late for people with knowledge of this terrible crime to come forward, and I urge those responsible for this murder to contact us,” he said at the time. He also explained, “Techniques and technology constantly evolve. This is especially true with technology related to DNA testing.”

After the police chief shared this update, JonBenét’s father seemed optimistic. “It’s encouraging,” he told NewsNation at the time. “The key really in progress has been the addition of new leadership there. It was not very good for 25 to 26 years. And now, knowing Chief Redfern from the outside, I’ve met with him three or four times. I’m impressed with him. I think he’s sincere and honest.”
