Gwyneth Paltrow’s Daughter Apple Martin Shuts Down Rumor That She Was Expelled for Bullying

Apple Martin is now 21 years old, and there’s no denying that growing up with Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin as parents must have been a pretty charmed childhood. But now, old rumors from her high school days are coming back to haunt her, and Apple is simply not going to stand for it. In a post she shared on Instagram, Apple shut down rumors that she was caught bullying to such an extent that she got expelled from school. Yikes!

Apple didn’t waste much time speaking out about the rumors.

In a screenshot she shared on her Instagram Stories that has since expired, Apple responded to a post that must have involved a story about her supposed past life as a bully. While she did her best to hide what was said, she did share her comment widely — likely just hoping to finally be heard at this point.

“Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand,” she wrote (via a screenshot published by the Daily Mail. “I have never been expelled from any school, especially not for bullying anyone. I completely understand ppl not liking me and that is okay! The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions.”

She continued, “But this rumor is completely untrue, I am not that type of person, and anyone who is close to me knows that.”

She has faced bullying allegations in the past.

While it’s obviously not clear what the post that Apple was responding to was all about, there’s a chance it could all lead back to rumors that first began to spread at the end of 2024. At the time, a video went viral showing Apple seemingly taking the spotlight from another girl at a debutante ball in Paris, interrupting her as she posed for photos.

Despite all the comments calling Apple mean, the other girl in the video, Loppin de Montmort, told People that wasn’t the case, referring to her as “the nicest girl ever.”

“She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting,” Loppin said. “She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!”

People are glad to see her standing up for herself.

As for this latest round of bullying accusations? People seem to be glad that Apple isn’t taking it lying down, according to one discussion about her Instagram post on Reddit.

“What has she done for people to not like her? Be born to rich people?” one commenter asked. “She’s not an actress or a singer or trying to be the next A-lister, she has done nothing unlikeable other than denying lip fillers. It’s giving the Anne Hathaway effect all over again (hating a young woman for basically no reason other than it’s the popular thing to do).”

Another wrote, “Even if the rumor about Apple is true all the people bullying her in response to it are no better people. It feels like we’re in a massive misinformation crisis in general online, because people believe blind items and anonymous posts with no second thought.”
