The moment between Camilla and the person she was talking to took place years ago, while Kate Middleton was still expecting her first baby, Prince George… but when the footage appeared on TikTok in 2023, it went viral, and now, it’s being shared online all over again.
The woman in the video can be heard saying that she’s been taking bets for what the new royal baby would be named, and Camilla asked her what names she’s predicting, she replied, “We’re going for something like Spencer or James.”
Of course, Spencer was Diana’s last name before she married into the royal family, and this lady certainly wasn’t alone in believing that Will and Kate may choose to honor her in this way. Instead, they named their baby boy George Alexander Louis.
Camilla was visibly taken aback by the “Spencer” suggestion.
You can see Camilla shut down the second she hears the name “Spencer” out of that woman’s mouth, and she’s even still talking when the future queen turns to focus on the next person in line. It’s like she truly couldn’t make her brain formulate the right response, she was that caught off guard.
Maybe she thought she was being set up, but either way… the way she chose to handle the situation didn’t do much to hide any negative feelings she was still grappling with when it comes to her husband’s ex-wife!
People believe her reaction has a lot to do with Diana-shaped baggage that Camilla is still toting around.
When the footage was shared on Reddit all over again this week, more than one person admitted that the video had them cackling — while also pointing out that this does make Camilla look a bit petty.
“Not Diana being Camilla’s Voldemort!” one person wrote.
Another thought the woman who brought up the name Spencer must have been trolling. “Look at Camilla’s demeanor, she was thoroughly disturbed by the mention of the name Spencer, her bodyguard had to move her on.”
It was probably for the best that Camilla didn’t get to say what she was really thinking in the moment.
