Duggar Fans Are All Asking the Same Question After John & Abbie’s Baby Announcement

It’s official: John David and Abbie Duggar are now parents of three. The couple took to Instagram to announce the big news and share the first photo of their baby girl, but they left out one important detail: Her name. Now, fans are wondering why they wouldn’t share it with their announcement, especially since the names of their older two children are public.

The announcement came on February 28.

John and Abbie shared a brand new family photo that included their oldest two kids, 6-year-old daughter Grace and 3-year-old son Charlie, as well as their brand new baby girl, who looked very angelic and adorable all wrapped up in a white swaddle.

“John and Abbie — party of 5!” said the caption on the post. “Our sweet little lady made her arrival last month! We’re completely smitten and soaking in all the newborn snuggles!”

They didn’t share their baby’s name, though, and that definitely didn’t go unnoticed by fans.

This seems like a pretty abrupt change in direction.

While there were plenty of comments congratulating the family on their new baby and gushing over how cute she is, there were even more from fans asking what her name is and wondering why they chose not to share it — at least, not so far.

“John & Abbie, please post a YouTube vid announcing what you’ve decided to name your newest precious baby girl. Congrats again, she’s beautiful, and you all look amazing!” one commenter wrote.

Another one of their followers took a more direct approach, demanding, “Why are you keeping the name a secret??” Others quickly came to John and Abbie’s defense, with one replying, “Because they don’t have to share their child’s name with strangers on the internet.”

It might be more surprising to fans that so far they’re keeping their baby girl’s name private since they’ve shared their other kids’ names and Abbie was also posting a lot of updates during her pregnancy. It didn’t seem like they wanted to keep this one on the down low until now… and apparently, that strategy has invited all kinds of curiosity.

She’s already back to normal life.

Abbie would have given birth sometime in January, so it looks like she’s back to her regular routine, according to her most recent post. She and sister-in-law Katey Duggar (who is married to John’s brother, Jed) made a video promoting their local consignment sale, and even being two months postpartum with her third kid, Abbie looks like she’s feeling great — a relief, knowing that she usually struggles with some pretty rough hyperemesis gravidarum during her pregnancies.

Maybe she and John will choose to share their baby girl’s name soon, and maybe they won’t. In the end, it’s their daughter. They’re fully entitled to share as much or as little about her as they want!
