If you want to have a baby and you also want to be a criminal, it’s best not to take your infant with you to commit a crime. A Pennsylvania mom and dad learned that the hard way after allegedly abandoning their 4-month-old to run from police. The Upper Chichester Police Department received a call around 2:20 a.m. on March 30, 2026, regarding a pair of suspicious vehicles near 3162 Meetinghouse Road. When they got there, one vehicle remained at the scene but the second was gone. A short time later, police uncovered a truly reckless situation.
The suspects allegedly went to the location to steal copper wire.
WPVI reported that as police responded to the scene, Angelina Williams, 32, Joseph Daniels, 49, and Ray Gibase, 47, fled. They left behind a Chrysler 300 with hand saws and wire in plain sight. Police impounded the car and had it towed to the police department while obtaining a search warrant.
“The copper inside the cables is a hot item for the precious metals to be melted down and taken to wherever they can to get pawned,” Upper Chichester Police Lieutenant Christopher Jones told WPVI.
Police quickly pulled the Jeep over.
According to a news release, the Aston Police Department pulled over a Jeep Liberty a short time later, with Williams and Gibase inside. Although police reportedly saw a blade under the passenger’s seat, they did not arrest either person. But as soon as officers got a good look inside the Chrysler 300 at the police station, they were in hot pursuit of the pair.
Officers noticed something strange in the back seat of the abandoned vehicle.
During the investigation, officers saw something moving in the car. “Once it was back here, our officers were checking the exterior of the car and noticed that a blanket in the backseat moved slightly,” Jones said, per WPVI.
Police found a sleeping 4-month-old baby boy, whom they later learned belonged to Williams and Daniels. The mother reportedly never said a word about the child during her interaction with police.
“Thank goodness that officer looked in there and saw something moving. It would’ve been a few hours before we executed a search warrant on it once the judge signed the paperwork,” Jones said.
Police ultimately located all three adults and arrested them.
Investigators reportedly learned that Gibase aided in the theft plot, WKRC reported. All three face charges of theft by unlawful taking, endangering the welfare of a child, theft of secondary metal, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy, and possession of an instrument of a crime.
What in the world were these parents thinking? If you want to be a degenerate, do it on your own time. Don’t bring an innocent baby along who could potentially be harmed. If you need money, how about getting a job?
