Nearly three decades after Princess Diana‘s death, her brother has remained close to at least one of his nephews. A royal expert claims that Charles Spencer doesn’t like Prince William and instead prefers Prince Harry.
Considering how Harry seems to be the one who has stayed the most in touch with his late mother’s side of the family, his opinion may not be too far off — and we might find out for sure in Charles’ upcoming memoir.
Charles Spencer is said to be very “pro-Harry.”
Speaking about Charles’ upcoming memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, royal expert Tom Bower told GB News that reading his point of view should be pretty interesting.
“He’s doing it because he just wants to set the record, his record straight, and also it is a fascinating story. He’s got a very special angle,” Tom said. “I mean, he’s furious with King Charles, doesn’t like William, very pro-Harry, awfully unhappy about the way his sister was treated, and he is a good writer.”
Tom didn’t elaborate on why Charles wouldn’t like William, but the part about him being “pro-Harry” definitely makes sense — Harry has always spoken out against the media’s treatment of his mother before her death, just as her brother has.
Harry seems to have visited him during his summer trip to the UK.
During Harry and Meghan’s family trip to the UK in July, they visited Althorp, which is Diana’s former home and the home where Charles lives today (and it also happens to be where Diana is buried). When Meghan shared pictures from the trip on Instagram, the post included a snap of Harry, Archie, and Lili walking together through the grounds of the estate.
It seems like Harry is seeing his uncle in person more than he’s seeing the royals, which really does speak volumes about where his family loyalties lie.
There are also rumors that Charles offered Harry and Meghan a place to live.
Now that Harry and Meghan are moving back to the UK on a more permanent basis, they’re going to need a place to live — somewhere that isn’t on royal property. And according to what former royal butler Grant Harrold told CasinoHawks, there’s a chance that the Spencers will offer the Sussexes a place to stay.
“Even when things were at their worst with the royals, Harry was always supported by his late mother’s brother Earl Spencer,” Grant told the outlet, via Marie Claire. “We know Meghan and Harry stayed at the Spencer family home earlier in the summer, so maybe conversations happened then.”
It would make a lot of sense, especially if Harry is as close to his uncle as the experts are claiming. Either way, they’ll soon have the oppoortunity to spend a lot more time together.
