Today, Amber Heard‘s life looks a lot different than it did when she was battling ex Johnny Depp in the courtroom back in 2022 over allegations he abused her. Now living in Madrid, Spain, Amber shared a rare glimpse into her life on social media, and although people are genuinely happy for her, of course Johnny’s name is still coming up in the conversation.
This may be one of those things that never changes for her, even though it should have a very long time ago.
Amber is celebrating her first half marathon.
She shared a photo of herself on Instagram celebrating after running the 2026 Rural Kutxa San Sebastián Half Marathon, which she said in her caption was her first half marathon ever.
Amber said she ran 21 kilometers in one hour and 39 minutes, which is pretty impressive. And judging by that smile on her face, it seems like she’s pretty proud of herself for it.
This update came a few months after she shared photos from her first race back in June, so it looks like she’s really loving this hobby of hers.
People are so happy to see her thriving, but they can’t seem to talk about her happiness without also bringing up one of the hardest parts of her life.
On Reddit, people are sharing how happy they are for Amber… after everything she went through with Johnny, of course.
“I’m here for this x 1000! Misogyny tried to beat her into the ground and she’s still going! So many props to her! She’s a damn survivor as far as I’m concerned!” one person wrote.
Another replied to their comment, “Her ex sure as shit won’t be running any half marathons. The joy on her face. He’ll never have that.”
The comments are mostly positive — which is a huge change from the way people once spoke about Amber online — but it would be nice to see a conversation around her that doesn’t also include her ex.
Amber’s life has totally changed since that trial ended.
Not only is she living in an entirely different country these days, but she’s also a mom of three. She welcomed her oldest daughter, Oonagh, in 2021, followed by twins Ocean and Agnes in 2025, and in general, it seems like she’s keeping things far more low key than she did just a few years ago.
She might not be in the spotlight quite as much anymore, but it seems like that’s exactly the way she likes it. Every so often she shares these little updates, and it’s great to see that she’s living her best life.
Oh, and running pretty fast, too. She made good time for only running her first half marathon.
