Woman Who Spoke Out Against the Duggar’s Abuse Files Restraining Order Against Husband

The dust is still settling after a docuseries was released that sheds light on the Duggar family and the Institute in Basic Life Principles, the religious organization they belong to. In the shocking four-part series, several Duggar family members spoke out against the practices and abuse they said they received.

Since its release, it's been revealed that one of the women featured on the series has filed a court order of protection for herself and her minor children.

Bobye Holt appeared on the series 'Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets' with her husband, Jim Holt.

According to the U.S. Sun, Bobye requested an order of protection against her husband and their 11 children on April 20, 2023.

The story was previously shared by Arkansas Times which reported Bobye's order of protection request was granted.

Reports show that Bobye's request for an order of protection was granted.

Bobye's temporary restraining order was granted on April 21, then received a longer-lasting order on May 8 for herself and their 11 children.

In addition to Bobye's request being granted, it's also been reported that their son, Samuel Holt, also filed a complaint against his father.

His order of protection was granted the same day his mother received hers for herself and her other kids.

There aren't a lot of details, however, regarding the reason for Bobye and her son to file for orders of protection.

"The Springdale Police Department acknowledged this week that it answered a call involving the Holt family on April 15 but declined to share information about it," the Arkansas Times reported, "saying the investigation remains active."

According to the social profile, the protection order for Bobye and her kids against Jim can last up to 10 years.

Katie Joy's source tells her that in the order of protection, Jim is barred from the home he shared with his wife and kids.

"During a trial for the orders, Bobye and the kids presented video and photographs of the abuse they experienced from Jim," she wrote in her post. "One of the daughters was allegedly hit so hard by Jim that he injured her neck and she's [been] getting regular medical care, at least 4 of the kids are living separately from both parents and with a sibling."

In the docuseries, Jim and Bobye spoke out against the Duggars and the abuse they saw.

The U.S Sun reported Jim and Bobye were present during Josh Duggar's trial, where he was convicted and sentenced over child sexual abuse material. In the series, we learn one of their daughters was in a relationship with Josh before he married Anna. The parents said they called off their relationship after learning of Josh's history of molestation.

Since Jim's involvement in the docuseries was first announced, Without a Crystal Ball has been documenting details she's received on his abuse and speaking out against his involvement in the series.

"Without a single disclaimer at the end, viewers watching the new docuseries won't know that Jim Holt is a violent husband and father," she wrote in one of the many updates.
