Camilla Is Using Princess Diana’s Favorite Designer To Make Her Coronation Gown

Reportedly, Queen Consort Camilla has finally decided who will design the dress she wears on what may be the most important day of her life. According to The Sun, she's chosen Bruce Oldfield to create the one-of-a-kind gown — and he happens to have been one of Princess Diana's favorite designers too.

Bruce designed some of the famous gowns Diana wore before her death.

Chances are you've seen the British designer's work in the past, because he was behind Diana's most memorable looks, such as this ruffled baby blue number.

The Sun reports that Bruce was an "obvious choice" for Camilla — not just because of his long-running history with the royal family but because of their own relationship.

The duo have gotten close over the years.

"Camilla has a very close friendship with Bruce spanning many years so in many ways it is the natural and obvious choice," an anonymous source said of the decision.

"Camilla trusts Bruce because he has really delivered on dresses for so many important occasions recently for her," the person continued.

The news has yet to be confirmed.

For now, it appears it's just speculation that Bruce will be the brains behind Camilla's coronation couture, but we have to admit, it really would make sense.

It seems like he thinks so too. At least he did when he spoke to the Daily Mail about the legacy his designs have had within the royal family, saying that he "gave Diana her glamour and Camilla her confidence."

Camilla may need an extra boost of confidence when she stands beside her husband.

The pair are set to be crowned May 6 in a move that will majorly buck royal tradition.

According to Page Six, Camilla will be the first divorced woman crowned queen consort and the first consort crowned in nearly a century (Prince Philip was not crowned but instead kneeled beside Queen Elizabeth during her coronation).

We have a hunch that some people will be very unhappy about these decisions.

Plenty of people are still angry over the fact that Charles cheated on Diana with Camilla, breaking up their marriage and possibly even creating the conditions that led to her death.

Seeing Camilla dressed by Diana's favorite designer as she stands where the late princess should've been standing herself may see like insult to injury to some. Only time will tell how Camilla is received as queen consort, but for now, we have to admit we can't wait to see what Bruce whips up for her for the big day.
