What to Know
Five years after former Bachelor host Chris Harrison was fired from his posting, he’s back with a new dating show. Except this time, it’s bigger, better, and more MAGA than ever. Well, that last part might not be totally accurate, at least from what Harrison has said. And “bigger and better” probably isn’t accurate, given the size of The Bachelor franchise. But Harrison posted about the conservative dating show on Instagram and in the post, the show is described as one for people looking for a “traditional marriage.”
That might be different things to different people, but it’s kind of hard to ignore the subtext. And don’t even get me started on the questionnaire on the online form for signing up for this dating show that Harrison has attached himself to. The idea seems to be dating with the intention of getting married. I mean, isn’t that what The Bachelor is, anyway? But there are some religious and “traditional family value” undertones that Harrison seems all too happy to promote. Gag.
Chris Harrison’s conservative dating show is giving MAGA.
In Harrison’s Instagram post, he wrote in the caption, “It’s time to help people find love again.” Someone was quick to comment, “I’m sorry this is giving MAGA.” Really, though, just replace a few words and you have Donald Trump’s longstanding slogan instead of Harrison’s apparent tagline for the dating show.
The picture in the post, which features the website for the application and a picture of Harrison, who appears to be the host, explains what the show is about.
“We’re looking for singles who believe in clear roles, long-term commitment, and building a life together — and who are dating with real intention,” it says. And it really is saying a lot by adding in the line about “clear roles” for the man and woman in these relationships featured in the show.
Someone else commented on Harrison’s Instagram post with, “Traditional marriage? Clear roles? It’s giving Handmaids Tale. We can be excited about marriages and engagements without encouraging the idea of women and men having predetermined roles they have to play. You could have gone [in] literally any other direction.”
But, alas, Harrison chose to lean into the so-called traditional roles in a marriage with this one. Maybe he didn’t create the series, but he’s a big part of it, and it’s a big step away from the diverse contestants and leads from The Bachelor franchise.
The application for Chris Harrison’s dating show is pretty telling.

Just in case you needed a little clarification on what exactly this conservative dating show is looking for, I’ve got you. The online application has the typical questions about what a contestant is looking for in a partner, and if they have any deal-breakers. OK, totally fine.eople were quick to call him out for the problematic language in the poster for it.Then, it gets dicey.
One of the questions is: “What would your ideal marriage look like? (For example: a provider husband and a stay-at-home wife; the wife managing the home/finances/childcare; faith-based leadership in the home).” There’s also a question about “modern dating.” Is this show designed for the Duggars, or Duggar-adjacent religiously-minded people? That’s sure what it feels like, judging by everything we know at this point.
And, back on Harrison’s Instagram post about the show, plenty of people were quick to call him out for the problematic language in the poster for it.
“Do your roles require subservient women only?” Someone commented.
Another added, “Is this that Project 2025 marriage camp?” At this point, nothing would surprise me.
