Diddy Appears To Physically Assault Cassie in Newly Uncovered Security Video From 2016

Last year, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against her ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging years of physical, mental, and emotional abuse. The case was ultimately settled, but the details of her abuse weren’t something that many people were willing to look past. Now, many fans are seeing Diddy in a different light, especially now that hers isn’t the only lawsuit he’s facing. All along, Diddy has denied all claims that he is abusive and dangerous, calling the accusations made by Cassie “offensive and outrageous.” But now, video footage that appears to show him assaulting her has been made public.

The footage is incredibly unsettling to watch.

Video surveillance that is purportedly from a 2016 altercation between Diddy and Cassie has been obtained by CNN. The graphic video appears to show Diddy grab, shove, drag, and kick Cassie in the hallway of the now closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

Cassie has not released a statement about the footage being uncovered, but her lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, told CNN: “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

The altercation was one of supposedly many.

The incident is one that Cassie mentioned in her complaint against Diddy. According to the complaint, the incident, which allegedly happened “around March 2016,” Diddy became “extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.”

He then fell asleep and she tried to leave the hotel room, but he then woke up and “followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her,” the complaint continues. “He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.”

Cassie said she tried to get away but was afraid of the consequences.

Cassie was able to leave the hotel, and went to her apartment. The complaint says that she realized running away would only make Diddy angrier with her, and because she was “completely stuck in his vicious cycle of abuse,” she decided to go back to the hotel to apologize for leaving.

“When she returned, hotel security staff urged her to get back into a cab and go to her apartment, suggesting that they had seen the security footage showing Mr. Combs beating Ms. Ventura and throwing glass at her in the hotel hallway,” the complaint claims.

She sued Diddy in November 2023 and the case was quickly settled.

The complaint alleges that Diddy paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 for the video footage of the incident. This incident was one of many that were detailed in the lawsuit Cassie filed in New York City last November. The lawsuit was quickly settled for an undisclosed amount.

“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Cassie said at the time.

Many people have had strong reactions to the video.

People are filling the comment section on CNN’s post with their thoughts.

“Now if he was brazen enough to do that in his towel in the hallways of a hotel with cameras, imagine what was done behind closed doors smh,” one person commented.

“So, will MEN believe HER now?!?!” someone else wondered.

“Money and intimidation buys time but it doesn’t buy the truth,” another comment read. “Listen to the people others try to silence and slander.”
