Former ‘Superman’ Lead Dean Cain Is Apparently Joining ICE Now

What does one do when they are no longer the Superman lead they once were in the 1990s? Apparently, they join the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. According to Dean Cain, who starred in the ’90s TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, that’s exactly what he is doing for the next phase of his career.

On August 6, 2025, Dean told Fox News that, at the time, he planned to join ICE as an agent after he promoted other US citizens doing the same thing on Instagram. According to Dean, when he spoke with Fox News, he started off as a “recruiter” trying to urge other people to join ICE. And later, he says he joined ICE himself.

Dean Cain claims he is now part of ICE.

The biggest question about all of this, aside from why the former television Superman is such a strong proponent of ICE, is if he really did join ICE in an official capacity. He told Fox News that, because he was a police officer for years outside of his former acting career, he felt compelled to take up a more serious position with national security.

“I love our men and women in law enforcement, and what’s been going on with our ICE agents, it’s been crazy to me,” he told the outlet. “These are wonderful men and women who are enforcing the law. They deserve our protection, and our respect, and I am so happy to be able to join up with them.”

He added that he is “proud” to be one of the “patriots that stepped up” to support and join ICE. On Instagram, Dean has shared a similar sentiment in multiple videos where he urged others to join ICE.

In one video, Dean says it’s important to “help secure the safety of all Americans.” After he shared his initial video about joining ICE, people left comments to condemn Dean for his decision after severe public backlash for ICE raids and mistreatment of people at the hands of ICE agents.

“Bro started off [as] Superman and then became Lex Luthor,” one user commented on the Instagram post.

Another wrote, “So you’re an unemployed actor cosplaying a sheriff and an ICE agent? That tracks.”

Others called Dean a “failed actor” and told him to keep his distance from Superman and pop culture-related conventions.

ICE requirements for agents have changed.

But is Dean actually an official member of ICE? According to him, he is. And, given the new guidelines for new members of ICE, the idea seems to be to add as many new recruits as possible.

According to The New York Times, ICE is offering sign-on bonuses of up to $50,000, student loan repayment and even forgiveness, and retirement plans. Dean also said on Fox News that ICE lowered the age for officers.

Before, new members of ICE had to be at least 21 years old, and there was a maximum age. Now, they can be 18 years old when they apply, and there is no age limit for ICE members.

Per News Nation Now, President Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill allocated $46.5 billion toward hiring and maintaining 10,000 more ICE agents. Apparently, Dean wanted to cash in on that himself as an alleged recruit.
