Jon Bon Jovi is being deemed a hero after helping talk a distraught woman down from a bridge in Nashville, according to police. On Tuesday night, September 10, the 62-year-old rock star was filming a music video on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and had kept the bridge open to the public. In the surveillance footage that was captured, the video shows a woman perched on the ledge of the bridge, overlooking the Cumberland River. In the footage, Jon and another person are seen talking to the woman, who is facing them.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department posted about the incident.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department made a post on X on September 11. "A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night," it read. "Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. 'It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,'–Chief John Drake."
Jon and the woman shared an embrace.
A little under a minute into the clip, Jon and the other person are seen helping the woman climb over the railing back onto the bridge. The singer and distraught woman appear to talk for a short while before embracing as other people on the bridge walk over.

Fans praised the musician for taking action.
"Thank you Jon, for being an incredible human being toward another soul that is suffering.. ," one fan wrote.
"This moved me to tears. In a time of such division and hardship, I can truly feel the love in his actions," another person shared. "Well done, @jonbonjovi. A beautiful example of empathy and kindness."
The woman was taken to a hospital.
According to Good Morning America, police confirmed that the woman was taken to a hospital for mental health services. Her identity has not yet been released.
Jon won't be commenting on the incident.
According to his representative, Jon will not be publicly commenting on what happened so he can respect the woman's privacy. Per the New York Post, however, a source said the musician did what any person who found themselves in that situation would have done, which was to offer a helping hand to someone in need.
