Josh Duggar’s Release Date Pushed Back Again, Adding Nearly 2 More Months to His Sentence

It looks like Josh Duggar should start getting even more comfortable with his new life behind bars. Just days after news broke that his prison sentence had been extended, it appears Josh's release date has been pushed back even further — we're talking almost an additional two months later than he was originally slated to get out.

Lately, Josh has been serving time in the Special Housing Unit at the prison.

According to what inside sources have said, Josh was caught using a contraband cellphone, which is obviously prohibited inside FCI Seagoville. That's landed him time in solitary, where he could potentially spend as long as eight months before he's allowed a hearing.

Now, it seems Josh will be spending even more time behind bars than he originally thought.

Shortly after Josh began serving his decade-long prison sentence, his initial scheduled release date was August 12, 2032. Earlier this week, though, prison records reflected that date had been pushed back to August 22, 2032, 10 days later than originally planned.

Now his release date has changed yet again.

Josh's new release date is October 2, 2032.

Vlogger Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball claims that a source inside the prison tells her that the prison decided to make an example of Josh, handing down a harsher punishment than other inmates would receive for a similar infraction — likely because of how serious his conviction of child sexual assault material was.

"Administrators came into the prison to review files and take note of the offenses. Josh Duggar lost all of his good time for his first year, and his new release date is 10/2/2032," Katie Joy wrote in a new Instagram post.

Comparatively, others have been punished with 45 days or less added to their sentences, or by losing commissary, phone call, and visiting privileges for four months.

This may not be the end of his punishment, either.

Katie Joy added, "Josh is also still in solitary confinement. He was sentenced under the MOST severe category for discipline. As a result, they can hold him in the SHU for up to 12 months."

Sounds like Josh is probably regretting sneaking that phone in right about now …

Josh may also be dealing with limited contact with his family as well.

Though Anna and her kids have been regularly visiting Josh, it sounds like that's all come to a stop while he's in the SHU — and he may not even be allowed phone calls at this point.

It's going to be a long 10 years, and with the way he's going, it may end up being even longer than that.
