Kim Kardashian Got Salmon Sperm Injected Into Her Face for a Very Strange Reason

As Kim Kardashian has shared before, she'll try just about anything if it'll make her look younger. Her most recent endeavor took to following a celebrity facial trend: getting a salmon sperm facial. Jennifer Aniston recently ranted about the treatment in an August 2023 interview with WSJ Magazine when the 55-year-old Friends actress shared that she had tried the facial. "First of all, I said, 'Are you serious? How do you get salmon’s sperm?'" she said then.

Kim revealed it to her mom.

The 43-year-old SKIMS founder shared with her mom, Kris Jenner, on this week's episode of The Kardashians. "I got a salmon sperm facial, salmon sperm injected into my face," she said.

She's tried other unconventional treatments in the past.

In 2013, Kim got a platelet-rich plasma facial, also known as a "vampire facial," which she revealed on an episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami. The process involves drawing blood from a person's face and reapplying it topically. She's also known for her facial laser treatments.

There's another thing the celeb would try to improve her skin.

In a 2022 interview with the New York Times, Kim shared that she's willing to try just about anything to make her skin look better. "I'll try anything. If you told me that I literally had to eat poop every single day and I would look younger, I might," she considered at the time. "I just might."

Salmon sperm facials have been popular in Korea and Australia for a while. The treatments are used to boost collagen, increase cell turnover, and help with pigmentation issues.

"Salmon [semen] has been shown to improve skin, hydration, plumpness, texture, and wrinkles. The effects on the skin are thought to be due to high DNA levels," dermatologist Dr. Joshua Zeichner shared after Jennifer revealed she'd gotten a treatment. "DNA is composed of amino acids, which have long been used in skin care for their hydrating and cell-renewing benefits."

Some doctors use the treatment as skin boosters.

Dr. Rod J. Rohrich, a plastic surgeon, previously told Allure that as an injectable, “early in vivo studies have shown improvement in skin tone, fine lines, skin elasticity, and hydration.” Some doctors overseas use the treatment as a skin booster.
