Kim Kardashian continues to prove that she's the reality star everyone loves to hate after she faced backlash over a recent Harvard Business School appearance. The Skims founder gave would-be MBA students a nearly two-hour presentation, prompting plenty of hilarious Twitter commentary as a result.
She went to the elite university to deliver a speech.
Kim swept onto Harvard's campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Saturday. "I spoke at Harvard Business School yesterday for a class called HBS Moving Beyond DTC," the mom of four wrote on Sunday, sharing a photo of herself wearing a black pinstriped suit and leaning against the school's sign.
"The class' assignment was to learn about Skims, so my partner Jens and I spoke about our marketing, our challenges, and our greatest wins. I'm so proud of Skims, and the thought that it is a course being studied at Harvard is just crazy!"
She was giving us major Elle Woods vibes.
In 2019, Kim filmed a video re-creating the iconic Legally Blonde scene where Elle (played by Reese Witherspoon) films a video essay as part of her application to Harvard Law School. It seems life was imitating art with Kim's recent Harvard appearance.
We've got to hand it to the business mogul: She really outdid herself by making a real-life trip to the famed campus.
But Kim wasn't the only one who thought the Harvard stop was 'crazy.'
As it turns out, plenty of people online didn't think Kim was worthy of her Harvard appearance.
"Harvard has now sunk to a community college level," one person griped on Twitter.
"Kim Kardashian speaking at Harvard should tell you where society is going," another person tweeted.
Others accused Kim of paying for the prestige.
Multiple people accused Kim of paying the Ivy League school for the chance to appear (with one person even suggesting that her momager, Kris Jenner, was behind the whole thing).
"And like 90% of Harvard graduates, their daddies all helped them get in," another person tweeted.
Someone else brought up some questionable Harvard business dealings. "Harvard has a history of cash for entry," the person wrote.
Not everyone was hating on the reality star, though.
Kim's very public lifestyle makes her easy fodder for these kinds of jokes, but there were some people who had the Hulu star's back.
"Wild that people think Harvard Business School is above Kim Kardashian," one fan wrote. "The last 20 classes combined don't even make what she makes."
We have to admit that the fan has a point. Kim may be a laughingstock in certain circles, but the woman clearly has some killer business skills. A lot of people could stand to learn a thing or two from her!
