Talk about turning heads! Kylie Jenner's lion head dress drew quite a bit of attention Monday at Paris Fashion Week. The Kardashians star paired the oversized faux face with a strapless black gown as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet. Not everyone was a fan of the look, even though it was meant to be fierce — both literally and fashionably.
The mother of two rocked a unique look for the event.
The reality star paired the handmade head with a velvet gown that was part of a brand-new collection that had yet to debut, Page Six reported.
"Beauty and the beast," she captioned a photo of herself modeling the look.
Kylie went on to tag the team behind the lion's head and thank them for creating the wild accessory — while also being very clear that it was not an actual lion's head. "Wow, I loved wearing this faux art creation constructed by hand using manmade materials," she wrote.
It was a real-time 'who wore it best' moment for Kylie.
Daniel Roseberry's line, which he said was inspired by Dante's Inferno, debuted that day with Kylie in attendance. As she sat in the audience wearing the lion dress, model Irina Shayk walked the runway, wearing the same dress.
It gave people the opportunity to compare how each of them wore the look at the same time, which might not have been the best thing that ever happened to Kylie, judging by the reactions she's getting online.
Twitter had a lot of thoughts about the look.
Unsurprisingly, people wasted no time sharing their unfiltered thoughts about Kylie's look on the bird app.
"Not one for 'cancellation' but killing Simba and wearing him as a trophy is beyond the pale from Kylie Jenner," one person tweeted.
Another took aim at a similarly popular fictional lion from The Chronicles of Narnia, writing, "Y'all really gonna let Kylie Jenner get away with wearing Aslan???"
Animal conservationists aren't happy with the message it sends.
All jokes aside, several people pointed out how insensitive the whole design was considering the perilous state of the world's lion population, even though the head used in the design is obviously not real.
"The world today has only 20,000 lions and not evenly distributed," one person noted. "India has just 600 Asiatic lions in its western region. Governments have worked hard for their preservation. Kylie Jenner this isn't fashion, it's a grave insensitivity towards a critical animal."
Kylie appeared at the fashion show just days after finally letting everyone get a glimpse of her son for the first time.
At long last, Kylie introduced her followers to her son over the weekend. She posted the first photo of her little boy's face just weeks ahead of his first birthday. Her Instagram followers rejoiced over finally getting a chance to see the little one who Kylie and Travis Scott have named Aire.
Needless to say, it's been a big couple of days for The Kardashians star — even with the backlash. She's going to be hard-pressed to top the last 48 hours when it comes to keeping the buzz going!
