Some celebrity siblings keep their relationship low-key. It's a surprise to many fans when the connection is made. Others are so close, it would be impossible for people to not realize they grew up together. That's the reality for Australian brothers — all actors — Liam, Chris, and Luke Hemsworth. They have always been close to each other, so it wasn't a surprise to hear the three owned a home together in Malibu. Since they're from Australia, though often in the US for work, they needed a place to call home, and they landed on a great property — but it's now time to sell.
The three brothers purchased the home together in March 2016. Since it's in a quiet, gated community, it was the perfect retreat to enjoy each other's company and the peace that came with the home's location. Between Liam, Chris, and Luke, all three worked on their own projects, so it made sense for them to join together to find a home. However, the time has now come for them to move on, and they've got their Malibu retreat on the market now.
The 4,612-square-foot home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, and the interior is straight out of the dreams of someone looking for calm in their daily life.
We've got photos to show exactly what we mean, so come take a look inside.
A Home Fit for Famous Brothers
We know that one of us isn't likely to become the next owner of this home. Most of us don't have a cool $5 million to drop in an investment property or another home. But it's great to get a peek into how the rich and famous live, not for envy, but it shows that having a calm space can make a difference in our lives.
Welcoming Front Door
Yes, it's just a front door, but it can tell us a lot about the home before we even step foot inside. Here, we can tell that it's built and decorated to be welcoming for a more stress-free life. The stone pathway leads right to the front entrance, which is lined with bright green foliage, and it's like walking into the world's most welcoming spa.
The Foyer
Something that we look for in a home ourselves is a big foyer area so that when we have guests come over, they can all pile into the house without it feeling crowded. Here, there's so much open space that the comfort of people visiting would never be an issue.
Indoor-Outdoor Entertaining
One of the most stunning features of this home are the floor-to-ceiling large panel doors that open up all the way. When they're open, it allows the inside and outside to become one giant room for entertaining — bringing the stunning views from outside to the inside. With the weather as amazing as it is in Malibu, we can see this feature being used a lot.
An Open-Concept Main Floor
In this shot, we can see the gorgeous main floor of this home, and how the interior design adds to the airy feel. We don't think they could let any more light into this space than there already is, and we love it. The floors are gorgeous, and the light color of everything just helps the overall calm feel of this space.
Simple Kitchen
We've seen so many kitchens in these million-dollar homes. While this one is a chef's kitchen, and has all the high-end appliances, it's still relatively more sleek than others we've seen. We love the large island with the simple chairs lined up for breakfast or a morning coffee. The white cabinets help keep the bright feel of the home.
Breakfast or Late-Night Snack With a View
One look at the sky, and it's so clear to see that the purchase of this home comes with more than four walls — the view is amazing. The sky is dreamy in a way that only Malibu can give, and the doors open right up to provide that backdrop for a morning coffee or late-night snack. This proves location, location, location is important.
Outdoor Dining
Often in these celebrity mansions, we see elegant and extravagant dining rooms. This home is a little different than those — not that it doesn't have a big dining room. There is a huge dining room, however, this home's perk is that it's outside with the oversized couches to the side and the fire area. It's a gorgeous place to entertain or just sit and enjoy.
An Office or a Bedroom
We're not totally sure what this space is for — or which of the celebrity siblings used it — but it could either be an office or one of the home's bedrooms. We love how open and airy this space is, and we can imagine getting a lot of work done here. There is a massive accordion door here that lets in all the light, and it's out of this world. Looks like we can see a hammock outside there, too.
Oh Shelves, We Love You
There is something about shelves that we just adore, and this room just does that whole concept so right. The wall is lined with built-in shelves, and while we may have preferred to fill them with books — a la Beauty and the Beast — this design is clean and simple. It keeps the same color palette and feel of the calm retreat that this space was going for.
One of the Bedrooms
We know this home has four bedrooms — and that makes sense given the three brothers bought the home together. We're not sure if this is considered the master, but it's on the smaller side. It keeps the same color and feel as the rest of the house. It's got those big, bright windows, which would be amazing first thing in the morning.
A Balcony of Dreams
This home is all about the views of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains, and with the balcony, the view can be taken right in. The home is exactly what someone who leads a stressful life needs — like the Hemsworth brothers. We can imagine them sitting in these chairs talking about their day on set, and the calmness will translate well for the next homeowner.
Dreamy Master Bathroom
OK, so we knew that this masterfully calm home would have a spa-style master bedroom, and it did not disappoint. This has an oversized shower, a big soaker tub, double vanity, and a window facing a gorgeous tree outside that makes it appear like it's the artwork on the wall.
Another Bedroom
The rooms in this home are simple, with clean lines and a stripped back color palette. It's not a bad thing — we bet it's amazing for when it's time to sleep. This room looks like it's been styled as a guest room with all the possibilities of a blank slate.
Kid's Dream Bedroom
We're guessing this space is really the master bedroom, given its size. This space is HUGE, and it's made even cooler with the two different bunk beds in this space. We know that Chris has three kids, and Luke has four kids, so there's enough space in these beds for when they're also at the Malibu home.
Theater Room
When the whole family is in movies and television, it makes sense that they'll want to have a dedicated area to sit and watch that together. Here, the home has a professional-style theater with blackout curtains, darker colors on the wall — which varies from the rest of the home — and, of course, the projector to bring the big screen to the wall.
A Game Room
There isn't a whole lot in this game room at the time of this photo, but we have a feeling this room was – or was intended to – be full of these arcade-style games. It is a home three grown men share, and their kids come to visit, so making it fun and exciting is an important factor in that. This is a room that's relaxing for those who enjoy games.
Dreamy Landscaping
For anyone who loves a good garden, the landscaping follows through with the feeling of calm. There's lavender, which is perfect aromatherapy to relax the body. The steps add a level of sophistication that gives a lot of pizazz to this home. We love all the different plants and foliage — and TBH, it looks expensive.
