Explore ‘Friends’ Star Matthew Perry’s $21.6 Million Century City Condo

There are a few TV shows from the early '90s that delivered characters who became iconic. They were so beloved, they shaped the way we saw the world, switched up the way we talked, and gave us moments that we will remember for a lifetime. For many people, that show was Friends, the NBC comedy focused on six friends living in Manhattan and all the shenanigans they got up to.

Of course, the actors who played the characters have become beloved themselves, including Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing. The hit show made him a wealthy man, and that's why he was able to move into the tony Century high-rise in Los Angeles' Century City neighborhood.

According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, Matthew purchased an entire floor of the famed elliptical-shaped condo building — designed by renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern — in 2017. He recently sold it for a cool $21.6 million.

The condo needs to be seen to understand why the price tag was so steep. For anyone who loves breathtaking views and rooms made for entertaining in style, this is a home like no other. We've got photos to prove it, so come take a peek at what Friends money can buy.

Living in the Clouds

Everything about this 9,318-square-foot home is extravagant, even for a luxury condo apartment. It features four bedrooms and eight bathrooms, and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views of the city, the Santa Monica Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, "The building is sited on four acres of private gardens, has a 75-foot-long swimming pool, screening room, yoga and Pilates studios, and a wine storage facility, plus a 24/7 valet, doorman, and concierge."

A Living Room Full of Light

Day or night, this condo is a sight to behold! The large picture windows are repeated throughout the home. They let in so much light and take full advantage of the scenic views delivered by the condo's perch high up on the 40th floor. This modern living room is designed for entertaining, and that's easy to see thanks to all the comfortable furniture (just look at the size of those sofas).

A Conversation With a View

Here's a look at the living room at night, when the view switches over to a starry sky and the colorful, twinkling lights of the city skyline. This space has that unmistakable wow factor that makes prospective buyers instantly fall head over heels. Who wouldn't want to end a long day kicking back and taking in a view like that?

A Modern Kitchen

We love big kitchens, and the sleek white color scheme — accented with pops of navy blue — and the brightness of this one really make it feel like it's straight out of a design magazine. The bar stools and the kitchen table provide plenty of seating, making this space is perfectly set up for both cozy family meals and casual entertaining.

So Much Space

From this photo, we get a good feel for just how sizable the living room is. Look at all that seating! Those couches are massive, and many of us can't fit even one of them in our living room, let alone several. Of course, the furniture is staged perfectly to soak up the spectacular views.

A Balcony in the Stars

This looks like a painting, doesn't it? This inviting outdoor space is just one of four private terraces featured in this condo, and each one is perfectly sized whether the homeowner wants to have a quiet nightcap at the end of the day, a peaceful morning coffee, or another area to host guests during parties. And of course, this view is off-the-charts — we're guessing there aren't many like it in the area.

Sweet Dreams

Behold this master bedroom — what a way to wake up in the morning! Once again, the views from this home are absolutely incredible. And being up on the 40th floor means you're looking right at the sky and not into another person's window. We can imagine it was difficult for Matthew to drag himself out of bed every day. These sights of LA deserve to be savored.

A Magical Place, Day or Night

Here's a look at the master bedroom at night. Could you imagine climbing into bed after a long day and having this view as you drift off into dreamland? It's like having a private showing of the stars from up in the clouds.

An Open Floor Plan

Yes, this is still the master bedroom. This space boasts a large open floor plan that also features several cozy seating areas with couches and reading chairs. The room is bigger than many people's entire apartments in LA, and it's just one of four bedrooms in the condo.

Fun & Relaxing

This is a view of the other side of the master, where there's even more space to stretch out. In a quirky touch, a swing chair hangs from the ceiling — because, why not? This whole space honestly seems like a dream, and with all the different curated sections, it feels like multiple rooms in one.

Time for a Movie

There would be zero reason to ever want to see a movie in a theater again if this home viewing room was just a few doors down from the bedroom. Judging by the photo, it's outfitted with all the top-quality equipment to make it just as good as a public theater. However, we're gonna bet the seating here is probably a thousand times better than the stiff and cramped folding seats at the public ones.

Lounging in Style

This is another view of the theater room, which also has a setup for lounging and casual conversation. We love the colorful velvet couches here — talk about comfort! And we imagine guests find themselves torn between keeping up with the action on screen and sneaking peeks of the magnificent city skyline at night.

Adult Playtime

It's hard to grasp just how big this space is until we see the full-size pool table. It's set up right in the center of the room, but there is still plenty of space to circulate around it. We bet it's nice to unwind after a long day with a game of pool or just practicing some corner shots before bed. And the fireplace adds a cozy touch.

Private Sunset View

If there was one photo of this home that made us literally go "wow," it's this one. Imagine sitting and watching the sun rise set with a view that feels like it was made just for the person living in this home. We don't think we'd ever get tired of it!

So What's Next for Matthew?

Matthew hasn't had the easiest time over the years, including during his 10-season run on Friends. He has struggled with addiction, and after the May 2021 reunion of the show, Matthew confirmed that he split from his fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, who he had been with since 2018. "Sometimes, things just don't work out, and this is one of them," he said in a statement via People. "I wish Molly the best."

Some fans also expressed concern for Matthew's health after he appeared to be slurring his words during the reunion special, but those around him say he's doing OK. (It was later reported that some recent dental work was affecting his speech.) We just hope we continues to be healthy and happy.
