17 Times Prince George’s Facial Expression Showed Exactly What He Was Thinking

Maybe Prince Louis has been the royal kid getting all the attention for being the sassy one after the attitude he brought to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, but let's not forget the one who started it all: Prince George. Long before Louis was even a glimmer in his parents' eyes, George was the one who didn't bother having a filter for his face. If anyone needed to know what the future King of England was thinking, you just had to look at his face — and that's true even today.

We have a feeling that George will figure out how to perfect his poker face a bit better as he gets older and closer to taking the throne (and if not, Prince Charles and Prince William can both show him the way). But until then, we're definitely loving the way he wears his emotions on his sleeve.

Scroll on to see 17 times when Prince George made his feelings abundantly clear with his facial expressions. He's never been one to hide what he really thinks!

The Stress of a Good Tennis Match

When George attended Wimbledon with his parents in July 2022, he couldn't help but react to the match in front of him from the stands. We can't blame him — this is basically how we all look when a sporting event gets intense, and as far as tennis goes, the stakes don't go much higher than this kind of match.

Tired of That Gossipy Sister

At the Queen's Jubilee, George was surrounded by his siblings and cousins, and it was easy to see that he may not have approved of their behavior at the event! When this photo was taken, it looks like George might have been a bit fed up with all of Charlotte's gossiping when they were supposed to be paying attention to the show in front of them.

Whoa, That's Loud

Another big moment from the Platinum Jubilee was the 2022 Trooping the Colour, especially since those standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony were made up of a more exclusive group than ever before. George and his siblings were among those lucky enough to watch the flyover from there, and he (and Charlotte) didn't try to hide how loud those planes got. They do have little ears!

That's Enough, Dad

Ah, another amazing shot from Wimbledon, proving that even kids with royal dads are over them sometimes. We're sure William is just trying to talk about the game or explain something to George, but he's absolutely not happy. Be quiet and let him enjoy the match, Dad!

It's Too Bright Out Here

Another year out on the balcony at Trooping the Colour, another year we have more proof that George may not be quite as into this event as the rest of his family is. After all, this happens in the summer and it's quite bright outside. Kate couldn't throw him a pair of sunglasses?

About To Cause Some Mischief

Here, George is at Princess Eugenie's 2018 wedding, and even though he's taking part in a very formal occasion, he's still having fun — and getting into a bit of mischief. There's nothing better than seeing a photo of George like this to remind us that all kings were giggling little kids at one point!

Can We Go Home Yet?

Anyone who's ever been a kid can relate to George in this moment. After a long day of playing outside at a polo match, he's finally hit his limit and is ready to go home. It doesn't seem as if it was quite time for Kate and her crew to leave, though, so George was probably upset about that.

Ugh, Not Another Wedding

George has been in a lot of weddings, and this time, he had to get all dressed up for aunt Pippa Middleton's 2017 nuptials. Sure, he looked adorable, but something makes us think that outfit probably wasn't super comfortable for him (and weddings can be a little boring).

Too Many Strangers

The royal kids have done a lot of traveling and rubbing elbows with important dignitaries and public figures for little ones their age, and sometimes they just naturally look over it. Case in point: George arriving in Berlin in 2017 with his parents and sister, immediately having to act cordial after traveling.

Don't Wanna Be Here

Another shot of George during the Poland and Germany tour he went on with his parents, and another piece of proof that he might not love flying. Let's be real: Most kids don't want to go to a boring event with strangers immediately after getting off a plane — they want freedom!

Royal Events Are So Boring

Here's a pic of George at Trooping the Colour in 2017, looking positively ready to go home to Kensington Palace. We get it — it's a long day, it's hot, and people are staring at him (and the excitement is likely very short-lived). Bless him for not trying to hide these very real kid emotions!

Remember what we were saying about George and planes? Here's more evidence that he may not love flying. While Charlotte was peeking curiously out the window when this photo was taken in 2017, George was looking like he'd rather be on solid ground. Maybe there was a bit of turbulence?

The Real Meaning of Christmas

This photo of George at church with his family for Christmas in 2016 shows why he was really there: the candy canes, of course. This little boy is just here for the treats — and we have a feeling that the food served at royal holiday celebrations is pretty great too.

Do I Really Want a Sister?

We'll never forget the sweet photos of George and William going to visit Kate in the hospital so that he could meet his sister, Charlotte, for the first time — or the way that George looked a bit apprehensive about it. After all, kids that age aren't always the most excited to have a sibling. But now they seem like true friends.

Traveling Might Not Be for Him

This photo was snapped on George's first overseas tour with his parents in 2014. They flew across the world to visit Australia and New Zealand, though George may have been a bit young to appreciate the trip. This poor little guy probably just wanted to be snoozing in a baby swing somewhere.

In 2014, George accompanied his mom to a polo match — and he didn't seem to love it. Although most kids and babies adore being outside, on this particular day, he didn't look like he was enjoying sitting in the grass. We hope he got to go home and take a nap (and that Kate got one too). We've all been there.

Yes, I Am the Future King

Every year, we look forward to Kate sharing the latest photo she's snapped of her children on their birthdays, and this photo of George as he turned 9 in July 2022 really told us all we need to know. This little boy is feeling happy and confident starting another year. We just hope he's holding onto his sass!
